I have the recaro proride and love it. I love that its side impact tested and has wings around the head.
Ours was $150 with the amazon mom discount and I've seen them on nbd for the same price.

I just asked a group of techs their suggested convertibles as we need to get some for our ministry & they suggested:

Guide 65
Evenflo Sure Ride (rf to 45lb & ff to 60)
Harmony Defender
or Graco MySize/Size4Me

for a booster I was told a Graco Turbobooster since it can be used as a highback or backless & doesn't need a headrest behind it.

We got the Combi but it's more of a mid seat for us & will be upgrading P to another seat & using the combi for our next from birth.... We still haven't decided what to get yet though b/c we will likely need to be able to fit 3 across.

Alright we are now in the market to replace our infant bucket seat with 2 convertible car seats. I drive a mid-sized SUV and my husband has a sedan. I would like a reasonably priced, of course high safety rated seat taht will last up to 60 pounds. What do you have and would you recommend it?
