I had both of mine in Britax Advocates. Used them from the time they were 7-8 months - around 4 years old!

@Portboston: @MrsSCB: @emilye519: @Charm54: @tinyperson: @avivoca: @erinbaderin: @snowjewelz: @catlady: @newlypregnantlady: @DesertDreams88: thank you everyone for your replies!

@Foodnerd81: My older DD is FF already. I would have liked to keep her RF longer but she gave me such a bad time getting in her carseat every time that i ended up switching her. Thanks for the suggestion, the Frontier might be an option. I hadn't thought of switching the kids out like that before.

@LindsayLou: Just looked up the Milestone and i agree it does look like a nice option! I'm bummed its not in stock at my local Target and BRU but I'm sure i can order online. I hope they start carrying it because it does seem like a nice mid-point option.

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions! I saw some comments about the nextfit zip sides being high.. I wonder if this could be an issue for me...I'm not super short (about 5'5") but have an SUV so the lifting up and over might be hard?

Im so confused by all the varying price ranges for these seats. I know some of it depends on the all in one features, ease of use, rear facing weight limit, etc. The Cleks are quite pricey but seem to be popular. Alot of people around where i live have Britax or Nunas. We have a Graco Contender for my moms car and I actually love it more than my Recaro even though it was half the price.

We have a graco milestone and have been very happy with it. It's one you don't hear about as often, but it's somewhere between the 4Ever and the extend2fit.

@tiramisu: is your older one FF already? If so you could switch him to a harness to booster (FF only) seat and give the recaro to the baby. That's what we did and got my 3 year old a britax frontier.

Our convertible is a chicco nextfit. I'm really happy with it but I would definitely recommend paying up for the Zip. I have a regular one and after two puke incidents... wish I had gotten the zip.

We have the Diono RXT and I don't love it. It's super heavy and my husband has a really hard time changing strap height because he has big hands. It also takes up a ton of room while rear facing (we have a Chevy Cruz which has a tiny backseat), even with the angle adjuster.

But I do like the materials and how high DD sits. Plus it has high rear facing weight limits and can be used for a newborn without the angle adjuster. I also don't have a hard time buckling her in. I got it for about $220 on a deep discount so overall for the cost I'm happy.

I haven't used it FF yet.

We only have a Clek Fllo so I can't really compare, but I like it quite a bit (far more than our Britax infant seat). It's easy to get LO in and out of, the fabric is easy to clean and pretty breathable, and it fits nicely in our small car. Plus I love the extended rear facing (LO1 is 3.5 and still rear facing).

I really like our Chicco Nextfit too. I have a Britax something in my mom's car, and I def like ours better; more just comfort and ease of use. I think we'll get that one for DD2 as well (and not have them side by side).

We have both the nextfit zip and the Clek fllo. I prefer the fllo because it's easier to get my daughter into and it's super narrow but I'm short 5'2 so idk if it's a me problem or the seat 😬 Both are great seats though!

@catgirl agree with all you said. I love our Graco 4ever but if I could do it again would pick the other for longer RFing. Although, my LO is on the slim side, so RF up to 40 lbs will still be pretty good.

I do love our foonfs (we have 2 and they are our main seats we use) but we have other seats as well that we like (babysitter car and DHs car). Britax makes install easy and adjustments easy, we have a boulevard and a click tight pioneer I think, really like them. And then we have a graco that I really like too, I think it's the contender. It is also easy to install and easy to make the strap adjustements and nice fabric. We have a diono, pretty much hate it (too heavy and really hard to get the correct install). And we had a maxi cosi pria that we replaced after an accident. It was ok, fabric stained very easily and too big and bulky.

We love our Chicco Nexfit and got a Nextfit Zip for DS2. Some people don't like it bc it has high sides so getting your kid in and out can be trickier if they are big or something, but we have not had issues. DS is 32 months old and comfortably rear facing.

We love our chicco nextfit zip for ease of install, padding (LO appears super comfortable) small front to back rearfacing, and ease of cleaning (two puke episodes)
However it is wide so if you want to do two car seats side by side, you likely won't be able to fit another kid or adult in there.
More narrow seats are the cleks, graco slim fit and the diono. However the diono isn't reccomended by that group car seats for the Little's anymore due to the difficulty of getting a correct install forward facing and not fitting properly in all cars. It apparently is also outgrown before booster use. Apparently it's a finicky install (but you wouldn't clearly be aware you were installing it wrong).

Is there a convertible carseat that you love? I'm looking to move my son out of his infant seat and I'm not sure what to get. I have a Recaro Performance Ride for my 2yr old DD but i don't love it. The middle padding piece by the bottom buckle keeps popping out. I'd love some carseat recommendations that work well for you folks! Thanks!
