We plan to use it for as long as he fits in the toddler bed (he's 25 months and still in the crib though). Initially it will be switched to a second child and then we will just transition to a twin bed. With the families I have worked for only one elected to convert the cribs. It was an easy transition to the toddler bed for their kids but tricky to switch them to a real bed. DS is 18 months and certainly not ready for a toddler bed yet, but I don't want to be in the position of regretting that I didn't get the conversion kit. On the other hand, I don't want to get it and never use it! What would you do? </p>
