One more thing I just thought of....
Will all of these tall seats fit in a Honda Civic? If not maybe I can make a case for switching cars with my husband to drive the SUV instead

We have the Diono Radian RXT and chose it because of the high rear-facing weight limit and longer seat base. DD is tall and I didn't want her outgrow rear-facing too soon. She is 18 months and had plenty of room to grow still. I'm hoping to rear-face for as long as possible!

@coacheswife123: I really like that seat too! I had to use a pool noodle to get the correct angle (really so it'd stay), but otherwise it was a super easy install! It did come out kinda far rf so just check your vehicle manual to see if bracing (touching the front) is okay (if it does).... Once you lo is over 22lb you have a nice angle range you can use so you should be able to find one that works!

OP: sorry the kinda threadjack.... I got excited about the seat. Lol

@RubyCali: the Radian is a great option if you want I keep a tall LO rear-facing as long as possible. Don't buy a Britax anything if you want to keep your LO RF past 2 or so. The shells are relatively short even though they're great seats. We got the Radian because I didn't want to turn him forward-facing at 21 months, which is when he was within an inch of the top of the shell on his Britax Marathon.

DD has been in the 99th forever, and we have the safety first alpha omega elite. She is mostly legs, but at 15m is still rear facing comfortably. She just sort of folds her legs a little to fit. This seat is rear facing and forward facing and becomes a booster. Good until 100lbs in some way or another which is why we bought it oh, and it's around $100.

The Graco Size4Me 70 is the tallest rear facing/forward facing convertible from the carseatblog! Definitely might be worth looking into!

Both the Radian & Foonf are great for tall babies & both allow for extended rear facing & then forward facing. I'll see if I can find some other options for tall babies as well!

Thanks for the recommendations! This may be a stupid question, but do these seats do both rear and forward facing, or are you supposed to buy a new forward facing seat when the time comes? So many car seats!

@RubyCali: the clek foonf is popular and good for tall babies.
I have a britax advocate for my tall dd and at 27 months we still have lots of room for her to grow. (She's always been in the 90-98th%)

Our "little" 5 month old is in the 100 percentile for height (I didn't even know such a percentile existed!) and is quickly outgrowing her infant seat. Any recommendations for a convertible seat that can last us a good long while? I didn't think we'd only get a few months of use out of our infant seat :-/
