@Andrea: Oh yes, I totally forgot. My husband actually insisted on buying this little table and two little chairs for the nursery when our babe was a newborn. Obviously it didn't get much use for awhile but now he LOVES sitting in the little chairs like a big guy, and looking at his books. I guess we already had a toddler room and I didn't know it!

We made DD her own "big girl" room so that we could put DS into the nursery. Her furniture includes: a toddler bed, a play table with two stools, and a bin organizer that holds all her clothes and stuffed animals. I didn't want to put her other toys into her room yet, in case she decided to get out of bed and play with them in the middle of the night. We left her crib, the changing table, and her big dresser in the nursery; the bin organizer is much shorter, so she can reach all of the drawers. We also got her a full toddler bedding set, but it's only been in the last 2 months, maybe that we've actually used it; before that, I just put the sheet on her bed and let her cover herself up with her blankie at night. She does use pillows, though.

Fun! We still have a while for that. But by the time LO's ready for a toddler room hopefully I'll have another baby on the way, so we'll be moving her into a different room so the new baby can be closer to our room. I'll probably try to stick to a theme that isn't very specific so it can grow with her.

I haven't done this, but I have a semi-plan for when it happens, based on my son's behaviour. The plan is a Montessori style floor bed and that's pretty much it for stuff in the room until he can handle being in there with toys and sleep without the temptation of playing.

We're going to get DD a bed soon and take her out of the crib. I also want to make her room into more of a toddler/little girl's room. Not sure what I want to do though. Has anyone done this yet? What changes did you make in the conversion?
