You guys are making feel better.... I keep trying to remind myself that running for 6 minutes seems like nothing when I write it out, but the first week 90 second runs were brutal at the time. Hopefully one day 6 minutes feels like 90 seconds!

I'm toying with the idea of doing it again, actually, but I will definitely need shoes, a truckload of motivation, and TIME. All of which I do not lave lately.

Yes! I did this in my younger, fitter days and kept building on it and was eventually able to run like 7 miles. Don't worry about going slow! And make sure you have good shoes -- this is crucial. Get fitted at a running store if you haven't. And drink lots of water throughout the day. Also, I ran last time with an app that let me use my own music, which helped.

I just started. I am trying to do it every second day. I am also doing some days twice just to make it a bit more gradual. Good luck.

:goodluck: this weekend. After completing the program I still wasn't able to run the entire 5k. I took my own breaks

I really loved it, although my goal was never to do a full 5k running. I prefer Galloway running (which incorporates walk breaks but in theory you still maintain your speed because you are using different muscles and they don't fatigue as quickly, so your running is actually faster than it would be if you ran straight through).

Overall though, c25k was great. I remember thinking that there was no way I would EVER be able to run the 20 minute day, but by the time I got there I could! I would just progress through the weeks as you can. If it takes you two actual weeks to do a week, at least you are trying. You can always redo a day too.

I tried this program about a year and a half ago, and really liked it. I'm going to get back into it once the snow clears up around here - it worked well. I was totally out of shape, and while I didn't finish the program, it was a great way to get some exercise.

@OpinionsLikeKittens: I'm no help because I've never done the program but I also signed up for my first 5k this Saturday. I'm in decent shape, I just don't run. Ever.
We'll see how I do!

Has anyone successfully completed this program? I started in January and have had a really hard time moving forward. I didn't always get in the 3 runs per week the program requires due to weather (one time I dug my car out to find out the gym had no power) so I would repeat work outs. I'm on week 5 day 1 of the program which is "run"5 walk 3 "run" 6 walk 3 "run" 5. Run in quotes b/c I pretty much walk faster than I'm jogging at this point.

I ambitiously signed up for a 5k this Saturday that I'm definitely nowhere near running -- luckily it is a color run so it is less pressure. Anyway, Just looking for some success stories or motivation! I'm a good deal over weight which I'm sure is part of my issue, but running a 5k is my "marathon" and I'm determined to do it one day!
