@littlebug: Make an appointment with a GI specialist now. Best decision I ever made! Zantac didn't make a difference for my LO, and it is so weight dependent that it is really tough to get the dosing right. It took a rx for Prevacid (basically an adult dose) to get my LO some relief.

Do you have cracked nips? My LO spat up a LOT for the first few months and it was often bright red and bloody, but it was because of my cracks.

Just putting another option out there :) either way def see your doc asap!

@littlebug: poor baby! Keep me updated. The Zantac is so nasty. J takes it best when we squirt it in a bottle nipple ! I really hope it helps you guys !

The ped called back. They are calling in a script for Zantac for him, and then will follow up next week at the appointment. If he spits up blood again, they'll have us come in, and probably have us see a GI specialist. Man, seeing that scared me! But he's eating ok and seems alright. But boy, seeing your own kid sick SUCKS!!!

I would definitely try calling the ped again or maybe nurses line if you have that option. My nephew had severe reflux with projectile vomiting, but never had blood. I would try to get that checked out as soon as you can. I hope that everything's alright & he can get something to help him feel better soon!

So I've had concerns that D had silent reflux for a few days. He often gags/chokes well after eating, and sometimes even wakes himself up coughing. Various other things have led me to this conclusion, and we have a ped appt next week to discuss with the doctor. Anyway, today I had him in the rnp, and he was calm and just having out, so I went to the bathroom. While I was in there, he started to cry. When I came out, I noticed it looked like he'd spit up cuz his shirt was wet...and there were pink spots in it! He was really upset, so I started nursing him and he seemed ok. I left s message for the ped to talk about it but she hasn't called me back yet. He still seems ok, but I am freaking out!

ETA: He is 7w4d old.
