@ShaeCole: Congrats on getting married! So, early pregnancy symptoms and PMS symptoms are the same, so I wouldn't take any stock in those. It takes at least 10 days after ovulation and unprotected sex to show a positive on a pregnancy test (if the egg was fertilized of course.) So, at this point, you probably just ovulated later from wedding stress or maybe you just aren't that familiar with your cycle length. Before TTC, I assumed my cycle was always around 30 days but I learned that it varied from 26-32. It's easy to not notice those kinds of things when you aren't really looking for it.

Normally, you would ovulate roughly at the mid-point of your cycle, if the first day of your last period is cycle day 1. After that, you can get pregnant in the next day or two, but later is not very likely. It's more likely to just be stress.

That said, late ovulation does happen. My cycle is usually regular like clockwork, but I ovulated a full week late at least once, and got pregnant.

I agree; it really could go either way, depends on so many things! But if you want to do something while waiting, you can def test!

You're likely not pregnant and your period is delayed due to the stress of the wedding. It would be rare for symptoms to show up 6 days after sex and a test would not even show positive yet. I highly recommend reading "taking charge of your fertility." It will teach you all about your cycle and your body.

@ShaeCole: congrats on getting married. From experience this could go eitherway. But to answer your second so many things can throw off your cycle including the likely stress of a wedding and new situation. You should be able to test now, i would use one of thr early response tests like first response or clear blue

If you had sex 2 days before your period is normally due, I would say you are not pregnant. But plenty of things can throw off a cycle - working out more than usual, stress, illness, etc. You can start testing now if you are 4 days late.

If you had sex for the first time on the 8th and your period was due on the 10th, either you are not pregnant (you would have been well past ovulation) or you ovulated late and your period is not yet late. Lots of things could be throwing off your cycle.

You can test about 10 days after you have intercourse/ ovulate. A test would overwhelmingly most likely show pregnant or not at this point. I had BFPs at 11 DPO 3 times. Good luck!

I'm a healthy 28 year old with a generally regular cycle. I was just married, and had sex for the first time on the 8th. It's now the 14th and AF is four days late. I had some brown spotting yesterday, and nothing today, but the last few days I've been urinating more frequently and sleeping a bit more, and I woke up early this morning nauseous and with lower back pain. Is there any chance at all that I could be pregnant? If so, when would I be able to test? And if not, what could throw off my usually regular cycle so much?
