Mine sometimes get red spots like that and I also assumed they are spider/bug bites

ETA my friend’s son gets random red spots when he eats certain foods and she mentioned that it is a mild allergic reaction

Thanks for your responses! Several of the spots seem to have faded overnight and no new ones have appeared yet, so it doesn’t appear likely to be chicken pox. Maybe some sort of mild allergic reaction or even just acne?

@MLE81: are the spots itchy? If they aren't bothering her, I would guess it isn't chicken pox.

Is there a small white spot or blister in the middle? It’s hard to tell from the photo. Chicken pox usually have a little blister. When my son had it, it started as one dot, then the next day a couple, then a few more so it took awhile to ramp up. He was only 9 months though so he wasn’t vaccinated and caught it from my husband’s shingles. My other son, who was 3, and had one of the varicella shots, caught a very mild case. He had a handful of spots, not itchy, no fever. I’d keep an eye on it!

I noticed what looked like a pimple on my DD’s torso this morning, but over the course of the day more have appeared (approximately 7). She doesn’t have a fever and hasn’t complained of any other symptoms. Going to monitor her and call our doctor tomorrow if more appear. I’ve attached a somewhat blurry photo, but curious to know if anyone knows what the spots could be? From my own Google image search the only thing they look similar to are chicken pox, which would be a surprise since she is fully vaccinated and hasn’t been in school since mid-December...but I know it’s not impossible.
