Second baby I could tell because kicks were super down low and hiccups were up high. Seeing his movements a few times made it much easier to correlate what I was feeling. I knew exactly where he was for at least the last 12-14 weeks; I was able to confirm from 31 weeks on too because I had weekly ultrasounds (yay complications). He was transverse with his head on my right side and butt on my left side with his legs folded over kicking himself in the forehead fairly often. Then he turned breech at 37 weeks, then head down at 38, and then beech again at 39 when I had my c section. Once she was head down she didn’t move very much so I’m pretty sure I could tell exactly how she was (she kept her legs up under my right rib cage and kicked me after every meal). </p> <p>With my second she definitely moved around a lot more and I was convinced she was sideways for a while, but she got to head down and the midwife felt it and there was no problem with delivery. My first moved all around, and I could feel it and see a difference in my shape. I was more square than round, and my yoga teacher used me as a learning example for our class. She was so high up and I felt it! He was sunny side up which no one knew for sure until the c-section. That is except for the first (very horrible, no good) midwife who I saw in L&amp;D triage who told me he was sunnyside and then mocked me for wanting a painkiller-free induction. With my first baby my midwives has been telling me for weeks that he was head down and all good to go, and I kept poking him in what I assumed was his bum, up under my ribs, to make him move. Then at 39 weeks I got sent for an ultrasound because they thought he’d stopped growing and the tech was like “ok, so he’s breech, and-“ and I was like “Wait, WHAT?!?!” Turns out we’d been poking him in the head for weeks. I was pretty sure I could feel my son's bum up top at the end (but I may be totally wrong about what I was feeling!). I never had an ultrasound after 20w so just guessing.</p> <p>this one has been breech which wasn't a surprise because I felt all the kicks down low. I've just started (at 30w) feeling a lot more up top and wondering if she flipped. this time I'm having growth ultrasounds monthly so we'll see if I'm right in two weeks! she doesn't have as many hiccups so that method isn't working.</p> <p>could you tell head up/down or anterior/posterior as you got further along? </p>
