I'm beginning to think he's head down because I feel hiccups low in my pelvis. With LO, a late ultrasound confirmed he was head down.

Near the end I could tell. He was always butt up and sunny side up in all the ultrasounds and never moved, and I could push on his butt the last few weeks. He usually kicked back at me!

I can, but mostly because I've had so many ultrasounds recently. I know that he's head down and his face is looking towards my left side (right occiput anterior).

I can feel that his butt is up by my ribs on my right side and sometimes he pushes it out. I can also feel either a knee or foot stick out on my left side sometimes. His head is definitely pressing on my bladder and sometimes my cervix.

I've been wondering too! I'm 32w & feel her jammed up under my R rib a lot, too. Yesterday I had an appt & the nurse did a super quick u/s to see if it was still baby girl's head there in my rib cage & indeed it was. Hoping I'll be able to tell if/when she flips head down.

Nope. Some spots were a head or butt. The smaller ones were feet or hands, I don't know!

By 18 weeks I could tell sometimes. Mostly because I figured at that point her legs were stronger than hr arms so if I felt a lot of jabs that must be where her feet were. That was confirmed at my 18 week u/s when I told the tech how I thought she was sitting and she was, then I flipped her over and could tell that too. Then it got a bit harder for a while when I was feeling both arms and legs. By the 30s though I was pretty good at identifying feet (at least when she was kicking my bladder) and by mid-30s she was big enough that I could feel where here butt was and feel when she flopped from left to right.

nope, I couldn't figure out with either. The only reason why I know anything is from ultrasounds. My first was breach, and no one knew until the ultrasound - second is head down and I wouldn't know the difference but for the ultrasound.

At some point- no idea what week, the midwife felt around and told me how to tell what was what- she stayed head down pretty early on, but I could sort of distinguish her back and butt. Plus she always had her feet jabbing me in the right ribs.

It was really hard for me to tell until I had my 36 week ultrasound. She was head down so the lump that was usually in my upper left was her butt, then jabbing I felt under my right ribs was her legs/feet.

At 28 weeks they still move a lot so it could really be anything!

When i was 32ish weeks, i already knew she has head down and she was constantly punching my bladder, or so i thought. What i thought was her hand was actually her foot wrapped around her head like an acrobat! So i guess no haha. She was all over the place even though she stayed head down!

Yes, I could tell where his butt was and which side he was lying in because he'd stretch out so his little toosh was bulging out. I could also feel tickly movements lower down which I thought were probably fingers. Oh and he used to extend his legs as far as he could diagonally, which was pretty uncomfortable! I can't remember exactly when I could discern all this... definitely 3rd trimester though.

I was able to tell and knew my LO1 was posterior from about 34 weeks or so on. He was stuck and never moved from that position. I could tell because I felt feet (one you get further along, you can actually see and feel the foot shape) up by my ribs and I could feel smaller fluttery feelings very low down near my pubic bone in the front. Generally if baby is facing anterior, you won't feel the hand movements as they are towards your back.

I think it's called belly mapping, if you google it. You should be able to find tips on how to identify.

Once she settled in, I could tell that she hadn't moved out of the position she was in that the ultrasound tech described. It was pretty obvious once I knew. Head down, back along my right side with her butt jammed in my ribs on that side. So she kicked more on the left, and I could always feel hiccups on the right.

I always thought her butt was under my left rib cage, she would push it out.....
According to some late ultrasounds I was right, her head was down and her butt was up under y left side with feet tucked up under my right :)

I had a lot of ultrasounds and the tech would tell me each time where they were. It got to the point where I'd guess before hand where their heads were and she'd tell me whether I was right. I had two in there though, so they didn't do much flipping around. Once they were big enough to feel distinct parts, they were pretty locked into position. There would just be subtle difference in how they were positioned each week.

Were you able to figure out baby's position or body parts when you were pregnant? When? How did you know what body part was what? I've been having a lot of movement below my right rib area and also in the left pelvic area. The right rib area is sometimes a round bulge and sometimes a jab like a limb. I'm almost 28 weeks but would love to know what's what!
