It would depend on how they felt about me eating meat! I could easily eat a more vegetarian diet, but if they judged me for eating animals, then nope, I couldn't. My roommate was vegetarian for awhile and she simply did not like the taste or texture of meat.

Vegan would be more difficult....cheese is just so damn good.

I'd have a huge issue being with someone who simply doesn't care what he eats. In fact, I'm pretty sure I couldn't do that.

I could. I've had to do gluten free for my husband, and he's dairy free. As long as he respects my decisions to eat meat, I'll respect his decisions not to.

I would have no problem with it! My grandmother is a vegitarian and my grandfather LOVES his meat and they do just fine. She even cooks his meat for him as well as her own "main course". I think if you love somebody it shouldn't matter and you would find a way to make it work. Heck, I am Christian and I married a Jew. We manage all of our religious differences great! He can enjoy fasting on Yom Kippur and enjoy his breadless diet buring Passover. I will join him in what I want to and enjoy not having those restrictions when I don't. It is just the norm for us.

I think I'd be fine with marrying a vegetarian. As long as I can still eat what I want, it's not a problem.

Depends how sanctimonious he is about it. If he doesn't try to convert me then I'd be fine with it. My husband was pretty supportive when I was vegetarian/vegan but happy when I started eating meat again!

I mean, I guess? If my husband suddenly needed to eat gluten free/vegan/whatever I would work around it. But it's not something I looked for in a partner, perhaps even avoided a little.

I think it makes a difference if they're doing it for health reasons or moral reasons.

One of my pre-reqs was a man who did not have dietary restrictions. Now I realize I did not want to be critisized for eating pork especially.

I'm a vegetarian and he's not and thankfully it was something he could overlook.
Mostly we eat meat free at home, but only because meat is expensive. He eats meat when we go out.

I probably couldn't because all of the vegetarians I know personally are vegetarians because of underlying philosophical reasons which I don't necessarily feel the same way about. It's not so much that I disagree with their viewpoints, it's more that I don't prioritize them and give them the same level of importance in my life and having the same priorities as my spouse is important to me.

My husband turned vegetarian on me. When we were dating he ate sausages allllllll the time. I still eat meat once in awhile but he has high blood pressure so I think it's healthier for him to eat less meat so I'm fine and even happy about cooking vegetarian, I really don't like cooking meat anymore. But I do usually eat meat when we go out to eat.

I guess it would depend on the other person's tolerance. I am a vegetarian but my husband is decidedly not. It's never been a problem for him because I'm not someone who is disgusted to be around meat and I cook meat for him all the time.
