No clue! I get poked and prodded in every part of my belly & feel hiccups all over the place. She was breech at 32 weeks, and I only know from u/s, and then she flipped sometime before my 36 week u/s but I couldn't tell! She likes to dance enthusiastically with her whole body.

@sslm: I could tell.. I kept telling SO that I thought baby was breech from around 20w? I only felt her do a few somersaults early on, but by 28w I was sure she was set.. And she was. Toward the end it was VERY clear that she was breech because she would stand up and push her head against my ribs. It was great.

@JerricaBenton: I agree that hiccups are a good way to tell. My baby is head down and I always feel the hiccups in the lower left of my belly.

I could tell in the mid twenties because all of her strong movements were super low - Then I felt like she flipped in the thirties because I started to feel hiccups low in my pelvis. Now I can feel that her butt is the highest thing under my ribcage and still feel hiccups very low.

This girl has hiccups every day and I feel them down low. Once you get bigger, you'll be able to tell better where your baby is. Mine was breech at 17 weeks, but she's been in position for weeks, now. (33 weeks)

Yeah, I had kind of an idea, just from pressing on my belly and not finding a butt sticking up and out. Baby #2 was breech until 34 weeks and I totally knew when she flipped because she started these HUGE movements literally on the way home from the chiropractor where I'd just had the Webster technique done for the 2nd time in as many weeks in an effort to get her to flip. Not that I was really worried yet, but I wanted to do what I could so I WOULDN'T have to worry about it. Obviously, it worked and I very highly recommend chiropractic work and the Webster to get babies to flip!

min was head up for a bit, and i could tell because I never felt distinct "kicks" anywhere but in my pelvic area. Baby is flipped now, and I feel kicks higher up, like above my belly button, etc. Also, yesterday the midwife felt for position, and showed me where things are, and I feel like I'm getting better at feeling back/butt, so that helps.

I could tell that my baby had remained head down by where I felt hiccups. They were a very distinct feeling, and I felt them by my hip. So I knew.

I can generally tell what positions each baby is in by where I feel kicks the most. Lately, I've had pretty much 100% bladder kicks and kicks very low in my abdomen on both sides. I haven't had any of those kicks on my upper tummy when I rest my hand on it, like I usually do when one baby is head down. Turns out, they are both breech right now.

I definitely couldn't tell that early on, but wasn't concerned because they flip around plenty for a while. At my 35 week appointment, baby was head down. The night before my 36 week appointment, I felt hiccups in a new, high up place. (They has been low and center.). Sure enough, baby flipped to breech at 36 weeks. At 37 (and a half), still there. So...position means very little until you're pretty late in the game!

I didn't know my son was breech until 32 weeks. Because I kept feeling kicks in the same place (he was very active) I assumed he hadn't moved but he was head down by 38 weeks. So I think it's really hard to tell. I was convinced I would know if he flipped but I obviously didn't!

My last ultrasound she was, but that was 24 weeks, at 20 weeks she wasn't breech. My doctor won't even check till 36 weeks since she can still flip up till then, or more likely.

I think she is head down cause I am feeling kicks higher up, and nothing really down low. But I really have no idea.

Nope. The past 2 weeks my doc has said she's head down (and I'm almost 36 weeks so she's unlikely to flip), but I still feel movement low down more than anywhere (pelvis/lower stomach region), and hiccups high up. Right now I've got hiccups in the butt area...so weird.

At times I though she was, and at times I thought she wasn't - I was only right a couple of times (based on ultrasounds, my LO spent a good deal of time breech). :) Although she was head down (but sunny side up!) during delivery.

At 19 weeks baby girl was breech, of course she's had tons of time to flip, but based on where I feel kicks, I think she might still be breech.
