My girls each share their middle names with a grandparent. FIL's middle name (and DD1's) is his mother's maiden name. It's the French word for young. My second shares with my mom and her mom. My third share with my dad, his dad, and my great grandfather. I just couldn't handle it being misspelled as Summer all the time though (they are pronounced the same). DS's middle is Alexander, so obviously that would work. Dd2 will also have a last name as a middle-- my maiden which is sill part of my last name (I have a double last name after marrying)
