We give unsweetened almond milk. I was never a fan of cows milk and when we offered her organic cows milk she hated it. after several tries she finally accepts almond millkso we are sticking to that, i think its healthier anyway

We will be transitioning her to low temp pasteurized, non homogenized milk from a local farm. Initially I was leaning towards raw milk but just can't make the leap. She occasionally has almond milk now through baked goods & cooking.

We're going to go from breastmilk to soy milk and then try going to cows' milk per our pediatrician's suggestion.

@BeachMama: Right now we're giving LO organic whole milk. She only has about 2 oz. per day right now as I'm trying to slowly wean her to drinking milk. She takes two 4 oz. cups of milk during the day, so I 3 oz of breast milk with 1 oz. of whole milk. Next week I'll do 2/2 of each and hopefully in a month she'll be drinking two 4oz. cups of milk.

I've read Mrs. Bee's post and other posts about alternative milks and discussed this with my pediatrician and for now I'm not really happy with any of the alternatives so we do cows. This might change as I see how LO reacts to the milk.

My DD is on regular milk, but Mrs. Bee wrote an interesting post about Hemp Milk! http://www.hellobee.com/2012/07/12/hemp-milk-the-best-alternative-to-cows-milk/

The comments are good too.

Other popular alternatives include raw, unpasteurized cow's milk and goat's milk.

Do you give your toddler cow's milk, or something else? If something else, what and why?

DD is about to turn one and I'm debating if I want to give her cows milk or something else. Just wondering about easy-ish alternatives and the pros/cons.
