I saw the story about Rainbow Loom on CBS Sunday Morning. It seemed like such a fun product and I loved that the Dad started it to help his daughters make cooler rubberband bracelets. It seems really popular, I see all the neighborhood kids using it/wearing the crazy bracelets.

@mrbee: I forget. The lady at the store said one sold to the other. There is also an infomercial for Fun-Loomz.

I've heard about this! I think the one I saw was called rainbow loom. I'm not sure my DD is quite dexterous enough for this yet but it looks really cool and I'm gonna keep my eye on it for sure...

This weekend Toys R Us was doing a craft at the store and it was the new rubber band loom kits to make bracelets. My daughter (age 2) was way too young. Even the simplest pattern took a lot of coordination and careful following of directions. But I made her one while she played with the rubber bands and she loves the bracelet.

This is a great gift though for an older child (5-8). It's small (just a plastic peg loom and rubber bands) and apparently are pretty popular. It sounded like the other little girls were talking about learning new patterns and using different kits of colors.
