I was also going to suggest Lansinoh! That stuff is great for cracked dry skin. I also put it under my nose and my LO's noses when they are red and raw from blowing into kleenex.

I had cracked fingers the last two weeks and holy crap did it hurt. I tried to avoid using neosporin because I am touching my infant all day, hands, toys, food etc. band aids didn't stay on. I finally tried my newmans APNO and it totally helped!!

@regberadaisy: I think polysporin is safe? I remember the LC said it was ok to use that on my nipples when they were cracked and I didn't have to wipe it off prior to nursing. But, I would try to get it looked at by a pediatrician or dermatologist if it stays around.

@MrsSRS: too late. :( But I can put it on my bedside for her MOTN wakeup. I don't think I have any nipple cream at home. If I did, it's probably expired.

If its puffy and maybe infected I would risk the neosporin maybe before bed so it's not likely to be in her mouth? Lanolin is a fantastic idea!!

@MrsSRS: nope, she's not really a thumb sucker. but because she is a one year old, it does go in her mouth occasionally. So I hesitate to put neosporin on it.

@Mae: I did aquaphor after bath, right before bed. Nipple cream is a great idea! Safe for her food source, so gotta be safe for her to suck on. :P

I'd ease up on aquaphor if she puts her hands in her mouth. Try lansinoh nipple cream maybe?

Neosporin and offer more water to drink? Does she suck on them?

Just noticed my 1 year olds fingertips are cracked. :( it's on her thumb and one of the fingers. I don't know how?! But they're also very dried out. The other hand is completely fine. The cracked thumb looks a little poofy. Almost like it's infected?? I can't believe I didn't see it sooner! :(

I put some aquaphor on it, what else can I do?

Any experiences?
