My DS had cradle cap as a newborn. What worked for us was Mustela Shampoo for Cradle Cap.

We tried olive oil, but it didn't work for us.

We used coconut oil and combed out, a teeny bit of hair came out but less than she loses while moving her head around in her sleep.

Hmmm I didn't even notice if any hair came off with P's. It is pretty normal for newbies to lose their hair and for it to grow back though.

We used olive oil with a couple drops of essential lavender oil in it. Massage in & then comb out. Worked like a charm.

My son has some cradle cap, and also has quite a bit of hair. My ped said to put olive oil on his scalp and comb off the flakes with a fine tooth comb if the flakes were bothering us aesthetically, but I'm really worried his hair will come out with the flakes! When I scrape off flakes with my nails, the flakes often come off with a couple hairs attached to them.

Has anyone had success at getting rid of cradle cap and keeping the baby's hair intact?

Thanks!
