I've heard of people doing it with puff paint and elmer's glue, letting it dry, and then painting over. Like this:

@TemperanceBrennan: I think this is the best idea.

You could get the foam letters or scrapbook letters/stickers, glue on the bottle and then spray paint.

Seems to me like there isn't a good solution to putting raised letters on the bottles although I think the idea is good. It seems like it would be too small and hard to read.

I would get a larger base and put the lettering around it at the bottom.

ETA: If you use a square base, you could do something like this:

@scg00387: That's what I used before, but when I posted my comment on FB, everyone's like raised lettering?! Apparently, I'm the only old school person around here (on FB). lol!!

@JennyPenny: Do they (really) small letters? Like maybe less than a 10 font? I have terrible handwriting and there's a lot of letters so definitely no handwriting for moi.

@Foodnerd81: I've used embossing ink for my wedding thank you letters as well, but might not work for this project given the complex sentences I need.

@Foodnerd81: @mrswin: @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I'm only making a Gold ones, and I'm writing on there what they're the winner of. We're having multiple baby shower games so one would say "winner of baby jeopardy". Another would say "winner of baby price is right", etc.

What exactly will you write on the bottles or bases? The colors gold silver and bronze already signal who came in first second or third.

I used a stamp and embossing powder/embossing gun for my wedding invitations- you stamp with a special ink pad, sprinkle special powder over it, and heat it and the powder melts and makes a nice raised design. But that would be awfully labor intensive on a bottle. What kind of lettering do you want, exactly?

Puffy paint. I think that's what it's called. I bought some in metals to DIY ornaments. They came in a small squeeze bottle.

I like @Mamaof2's suggestion. You could probably do it right on the bottle if you want. Or maybe find some puffy letter stickers if you don't trust your own handwriting.

I think you could use glue on wax paper and when it dries glue it to the bottle, then paint it!

Or puffy paint if you want it bigger

@Alivoo01: You should be able to get the wooden bases at Michaels or JoAnne's, etc

No idea about raised lettering that small though...

Do the bottles not already have the lettering on them???

I posted a comment on Facebook asking to see if anyone has a label maker that prints out raised lettering for a project I'm doing. Everyone that has a label maker says their's prints out flat lettering.

What's an alternative to a label maker for raised lettering? I don't want to buy one just for a quick lil project.

The project I'm doing is re-creating these bottles below as a prize for a baby shower. I wanted to put the raised lettering on the bottle before spray painting them so that the lettering kind of blends in with the bottle. Suggestions on where I can get the wooden base would be great too! Thanks!!
