I had cramping through my entire pregnancy and was told the same, that its the uterus expanding and stretching.
And may be TMI, but...that's what this site is for :silly: I always cramped much much worse when I had an orgasm. :shocked: That was concerning but after much googling and eventually asking my doc, its totally normal.

@Goldengirl: ugh I know. sucks to have them both! Not sure I'll ever feel comfortable with this pregnancy. Maybe when I start to feel baby move!

@Goldengirl: *hugs* I should add, my spotting and BLEEDING combined with cramping still wasn't anything terrifying at the time.. even though I thought it was all over. Always better to check your concerns out. xx

@littlebear16: It sucks to have the cramping AND spotting, since everything I read says "spotting isn't necessarily bad unless it comes with cramps" and vice versa. I'm like, uhh ok great! But I don't think they're necessarily related in my case, just bad timing. My doc says at this point no need to check anything since I just had a great 12-week ultrasound last week. But it's so hard to stay calm. Thanks for reassuring me about the cramps!

@FancyGem: Thanks for the reassurance!

@jaguar: Glad to know it can be normal! I try to imagine that all these scary things actually mean good things are happening. Fx!

I had cramping throughout my two pregnancies. My dr says its normal as the uterus grows.

Yes! I've had cramping at night the past couple of days. Also had unexplained spotting. I'm pretty sure the cramps are just from the uterus growing. I remember it from my last pregnancy!

I cramped a bit around that time. I even pulled a muscle in my stomach while picking up my back pack. My son was/is fine, but I had to take it easy for a while. I ended up buying a rolling bag so that I didn't have to lift anything heavy.

I've had a TONNE of cramping this pregnancy - more than any of my others, live births or loss. It's very disconcerting. The best advice I got from my OB with the intense cramping this time around, was to drink a tonne - water helps the cramps, and lie down. If it becomes combined with spotting or bleeding, of course follow up - but hopefully it'll settle soon. I'm 18+4 and still having cramping on and off. x

I've been having cramps the past week or so, similar to menstrual cramps but nothing too severe. I felt the same cramps at the beginning of the pregnancy, but then they went away from weeks 8-12 or so, now back. My doctor says the uterus grows a lot at this point so it's normal to feel stuff, but since I've been having spotting I can't help but feel nervous. Just wondering if other people experienced cramping as well around this time? If you did, how long did it last? Everyone said I'd feel more at ease at this point, beginning the second tri... but all these annoying symptoms aren't making it any easier!
Thanks!
