@travellingbee: I bet that's it then! I can tell when baby changes position because her movements feel different, but not necessarily what position she is in. I was shocked when they said she was head down - I thought I would know that was happening! I have noticed that I have to pee a lot more now - maybe her head is pressing on my bladder? Who knows haha :)

@sslm: I'm a bit better. It continued this morning but tapered off this afternoon. I spoke to a nurse at my Obgyn and she thought it might have to do with baby's position. She wants me to call in the morning if it continues and I can come in. Otherwise I go in on Monday.

@stratosphere: yikes that sounds scary. I am encouraged that the pain hasn't continued and there is no bleeding but I'm in contact with OBGYN about it so if it continues I will go in. Thanks for your story!

@travellingbee: I don't want to scare you, but just wanted to add my experience. I was VERY relaxed throughout my pregnancy. I generally believed that women have been having babies for eons and chances were very good that I'd have a healthy event-free pregnancy and that most things resolve themselves and worrying is only toxic. Which is 99% of the time true!

I had a bunch of Braxton-Hicks from about 34 weeks on, no big deal. I had learned to just kind of ignore my uterus though. My baby was breech as well. Right at 37 weeks I had a weird feeling in my lower uterus as I went to bed that night. It felt like baby was raking my cervix or something, hard to say, but felt weird and painful. Then in the morning I had sharp pains on one side of my lower uterus.

I happened to have an appointment that morning to do an external cephalic version to try to turn the baby. As I went to the bathroom just before the ECV, I noticed a bit of blood on the toilet paper. I didn't even think of it, I was so nervous about the ECV.

Well, a few minutes later, during the version, I felt a gush, which was my water breaking. When we pulled down my pants to check on the fluid, there was bright red blood everywhere and it turns out my placenta was abrupting and I had an emergency c-section. Baby and I turned out just fine, but it was a scary few hours.

It is impossible to say, but I strongly believe that my placenta had started abrupting before the ECV and that was the pain I had felt the night before and morning of.

Again, I don't want to scare you, but I do want to make sure you don't ignore any weird/new pains, as I almost did. Placental abruption is very dangerous and not to be ignored--and I had no idea what it was when it happened to me!

@macintosh: no I have them all the time too. Its not as sharp as that and feels more crampish. It's low but central, rather than to the side where I feel my round ligaments.

Could it BF round ligament pain? I had it all throughout my 3rd try. Baby was so low and heavy that when I laid on my side the weight pulled on my ligaments. I hope it's nothing serious for you..

@Pumuckl: he is breech so I've been wondering if that is what is going on. I decided not to call but I'll call today if it continues. They don't feel like contractions which us what is keeping me from panicking. They aren't getting worse.

@travellingbee: ugh, I'm sorry you're going through that friend! How was your hydration these days? Maybe drinking some water and resting will make them go away? For me around that time I had some pain related to the baby trying to turn from breech to head down.

I'd totally trust your intuition though, if you feel like a trip to L&D is warranted then by all means go, sleeping toddler or not.

Starting around when I picked my son up at daycare today I have had sharp cramps in my lower uterus only that come and go. Maybe seems related to baby movement but I'm not sure. It isn't braxton hicks as I have those constantly and my whole uterus isnt tightening like that. It almost feels like menstrual cramps but a little sharper like a Charlie horse. :( it's 130 am and I really don't want to go to L&D for nothing on a work night when I have a toddler asleep. Just not sure what to think... Any clues?
