He can sit for maybe 30 seconds before falling over backwards or to the side, but mostly I think it's that he doesn't like sitting. But he is totally motivated to crawl and is currently up on all fours and rocking and scooting forward. Not real crawling but we're getting close. My kiddo can sit unassisted for a bit, but can't get herself into a sitting position, and definitely isn't stable. But she just started crawling today. It seems out of order, but I'm not too surprised. Kiddo hates to sit still and wants to move. </p>
