I had been led to believe that the motor skills involved in sitting were also necessary for crawling, but clearly that can't be true...</p> <p>@FutureMrsMcK: I had a feeling they were close in age, but I didn't realize it was that close! My LO hasn't tried to pull up in the tub yet, fortunately, but he is doing it everywhere else now and has gotten pretty solid. I'm a terrible hoverer by nature, but am trying hard to get over it. She'd only sat up on her own about twice until yesterday (she's been crawling for almost a month). After I posted I thought I remembered that our LOs were pretty close in age, but by then I was in the bath :P</p> <p>The first time he pulled himself up was in the tub, and he immediately tried to launch himself out, so I definitely understand the fear. How old is yours? Mine is trying to pull up too, but is still pretty wobbly - it's a little scary so far. He seems to get such a kick out of all these new, grown-up things, though. He looked so proud when he finally did it :) I always thought that sitting up was supposed to come well before crawling.</p> <p>Did your LO crawl before he or she sat up?
