Their favorite activity is cheating on each other at home (we can hear EVERYTHING that goes on at their house...everything), catching the other person in the act and getting into physical altercations that require the police to be called.The guy in this relationship has been arrested for beating her up 10+ times since we've lived here and he resists arrest EVERY SINGLE TIME. He barely weighs 130 pounds and it takes two officers at least a half hour to get him in the car everytime. She usually starts throwing things at the cops for taking him at this point too because she's a looney.</p> <p>Still not as bad as our old neighbours at the apartment we lived at years ago- he'd drag his wife out of their apartment by her hair and beat the hell out of her in the hallway while their daughter watched. We felt so bad for her and called the cops/tried to help everytime. But every time she'd tell them it was an accident or some such nonsense. And we live in an apartment building in NYC, so every time she calls security (probably at least once a week - for things like a baby crying down the hall - seriously), we hear the ENTIRE conversation happening in the hallway. </p> <p>Craziest story: we have a trash chute on each floor, but it is so small you can only fit a grocery bag in it, so for anyone living with more than one person in the apartment, it's not really feasible to use. There is a communal recycling room in the basement, where technically you are not supposed to leave trash bags, but everyone does (and my husband has asked the maintenance man before if this is all right and he said yes). So one day, nasty neighbor (who of course lives alone) saw my hubby leaving our trash bag in the recycling room and when we came home a few hours later, the trash bag was sitting in front of our apartment door!!!!!</p> <p>I don't know why people have to be so nasty. Anyway, hubs called the city today just to enter his opinion and concerns on the matter. But growing up we had one a few houses down. He actually shot and killed my dog. We haven't really had any interaction with her, but she loves calling the cops. She's called the cops on our next door neighbors (who are renters) at least a couple of times, for having their lights on when they pull into their garage (they shine in her window and bother her eyes) and for talking in a normal tone of voice outside at night (they keep her awake). She called the cops for something else, too, the other day, because they were at her house and my husband stopped by to ask them if there had been another break in -- there hadn't.</p> <p>Well, there's the thing: there have been a couple of break-ins on the block, including her home. They broke in and her mom was home, so they left immediately. They lifted a bunch of stuff from another house. So she complained that they were coming in through the alley (which is totally weird, because they literally pulled right up to one house and parked in the front while they broke into the FRONT door), and she complained so much that the city is fencing off our alley. And discontinuing alley trash pickup. So now each house will have their own 90-gallon trash can for curbside trash pickup. And not only do we have nowhere to put it, we have no good way of getting it out to the curb (we live on a slope, the only thing curb level is our driveway and there's not enough room for a 90-gallon can there). </p> <p>Other neighbors will also be SOL when they can't take their boats along the back way. </p> <p>People just drive me nuts sometimes. Anybody else have a crazy a** meddling psycho neighbor? </p>
