For my parents &amp; sister we wrapped up a pregnancy test &amp; gave it to my dad knowing he'd have no clue what it was. For my inlaws we wrapped champagne in a bib. I hand made cards for all the members that were from "baby". In my culture every relation has a special title so the card inside would say merry christmas -------. So my brother and SIL got one that was different than my parents or my nephews etc. We signed then from me, the hubs and baby. We had everyone open the cards at the exact same time and everyone was stunned. It went over great.</p> <p>Another idea I saw was getting a calendar and numbering the weeks and then circling the due date. We do a Yankee Swap, so I found this poem on line, amended it to fit us, printed it on nice paper, framed it, wrapped it, and put it under the tree for the game. My MIL ended up being the one to pick it...couldn't have planned it better. Its a set of numbered blocks, and the stand they come with says ____Days Until I'm a Grandma. You flip the blocks every day - it starts at a couple hundred (you know, nine months worth of days) and you count down from there. However, I read another suggestion somewhere that I really liked. Basically, the ladies in my family are total photo/facebook fiends. My plan was to announce during one of our random photo sessions by having my husband take photos and say, "1, 2, 3, say 'cheese!'", act like he wanted a second take then say, "1, 2, 3, say 'Joy's pregnant!'" That way we can get everyone's reactions on "film"! </p> <p>I'm a little torn, though, because my mom is excited about the family dinner announcement. For our parents we got picture frames that said "Grandchildren are gifts from above" and in the picture part we wrote "July 2011".
