It didn't affect anything until we were buying a car; but it took a simple call to lift the freeze! To prevent an identity thief from opening credit in your names? </p> <p>Anyone been a victim of identity theft? Was fighting it a nightmare? I hear it can take a year of calls and letters to get it all cleared up!</p> <p>We dont plan on opening any new credit lines in the near future so it seems worth it. </p>
