The second you set her down, even if she was completely asleep, she'd start screaming. I just dealt with it and let her nap in my arms until she was ready. Eventually she started napping in things that were moving.... the swing, car seat, stroller, etc. Finally at 8 months she started to be a crib napper. All of a sudden she was an amazing nappy... I don't know what started it. Once a month I just kept trying and would put her down and then all of a sudden she just took to it. Now at 19 months she loves her crib naps. I say, "it's nap time, ready to go night night?" My daughter was never a napper, and we still have all sorts of trouble getting her to nap... but it is much easier now than when she was really little. As long as your baby is sleeping well at night, then I'd say you're on the right track. </p> <p>The hardest part was always getting things done during the day b/c DD wouldn't nap long, and she wouldn't nap independently, so I know exactly where you're coming from. We never found an easy fix. I'm very happy about this as I have heard many a story about struggling to get a LO to sleep in the crib later one. However, she refuses to sleep in it during the day for naps. She used to sleep in her swing sometimes, but that's not really working anymore either. Of course, her preferred naptime place is in my or DH's arms. Anyone else facing this kind of problem? What did you do? I would really love just one nap in the crib to free us up! I love cudding with her and honestly would like to hold her for one nap per day....just not all of them. </p>
