We moved her to her crib afterwards but it was a difficult transition since she was used to sleeping with body heat and it was still winter and cold. When DH went back to work, we moved her to her crib in her room. We sleep better with her in her own room - she wakes periodically throughout the night and chirps a little, but is able to put herself right back to sleep. We slept in the same room with her while traveling over the holidays, and DH and I were up a lot during the night due to her noises even though she didn't need us. Also, I prefer nursing sitting up. It may be because DD hasn't ever had a great latch, but we've never been very successful nursing while laying down. I doubt I missed out on much sleep by not co-sleeping, and I was never tempted to co-sleep even when i was extremely tired because it was something I really didn't want to do. I was always afraid of drifting to sleep when she was nursing too. So I was sure to sit completely up when feeding her. You're so tired though, that you can still drift a bit, so just becareful. For me that was a lot easier because when I had to physically get out of bed and walk to the crib it was a lot harder for me to fall asleep afterward. She did fine there. If you are concerned about getting into a co-sleeping habit then I think doing everything in the nursery does help. My daughter has never co-slept with us.
