I did some research and decided to spend a pretty large amount of money for a new mattress (the Nook Pebble). He will be spending a lot of time on this mattress (over 50% of every 24 hours) so I realized that it really mattered as far as mattress quality and materials go. I know I want a lightweight foam mattress, 5" or so thick. The lady in BBB recommended the Night Night 5" Crib Mattress for $119, which happens to be 'Green Guard Certified" (something with indoor air quality). Lucie's List recommends a regular Safety First foam one that is currently $39, it says nothing about anything green. </p> <p>Do I care? Did you? That's a big price difference. I mean, the baby will be sleeping in it for a couple of years, then hopefully the next baby, so I don't mind paying up a bit for a good one, but at the same time, I don't want to pay up for pretty much the same exact thing. </p> <p>Thoughts? We are getting a regular Pali crib so I'm assuming any standard crib mattress will fit. </p>
