@LBee: @SweetiePie: @bhbee: @Sams Mom: thank you, everyone! forgot to mention that I'm looking for one that will effortlessly have my kid STTN by 8 weeks but I'm sure you knew that. going to just make a decision and not go down a rabbit hole reading reviews.

@ChiCalGoBee: this is one of the ones I was already looking at :)
@lioneyes: I didn't know they made crib mattresses! I actually used to really like my old ikea queen-size mattress (I think it was the most expensive they made) but it bit the dust after 5 years. no need for this to last even that long, though.

Have an ikea crib mattress (I think the most or second most expensive one?) to go with the ikea crib. Still going very strong 3.5 years in. Will buy the same for baby #2.

@LCTBQE: Bought this for our son and it’s held up beautifully over the 3.5 years we’ve used it. It’s pretty highly rated from what I’ve read. We have no plans to switch his bed to a twin for a while (it’s currently a converted toddler bed) so we’re definitely getting a ton of use out of it. We bought a second one for our daughter arriving next month. BBB has it is if you use a 20% off it isn’t too bad: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/moonlight-slumber-little-dreamer-crib-mattress/1041328491

Milliard Crib Mattress, Dual Comfort System, Firm Side For Baby and Soft Side For Toddler - 100% Cotton Cover https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HSIQYTM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_avjfBb4ZAC90H

We just bought this one and like it so far. Before, we had this. Kolcraft Pure Sleep Therapeutic 150 Infant/Toddler Crib Mattress -150 Extra Firm Coils, Hypoallergenic, Durable Waterproof Cover, Crib Fit Tested, 51.7”x27.3" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HKK5TK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5wjfBb9C1PC3H
But it started sagging and just felt uncomfortable. My Lo2 is using the softer side bc he’s two but we’ll eventually use the mattress for the crib part with LO3 and we can switch it to the harder side.

I have this one, we've had it for 2 years without problems... But he hasn't been in his crib full time the whole 2 years.

we have that sealy soybean one (or very similar) and still seems just fine (and kids slept on it until giants at 2.5 and almost 3). I’m hoping mattresses don’t expire since it seems fine to me for #3!

I went with a very simple old-school type inner-spring crib mattress with the vinyl cover that you can just wipe and I’m very happy with it. Using it for #2 now, after #1 used it for 3 full years.
I think mine was by Bellini Baby which is now out of business. But I’m sure Albee or BBB has plenty of simple options!

Do you particularly recommend your crib mattress? For my boy I paid $300 (FTM suckah much?) for a Naturepedic Organic 2-sided mattress touted by Lucie's List that *quickly* permanently indented on the harder infant side when my baby was around 10 pounds, and then did the same on the other side when I flipped it over a year later. So, not enthusiastic about shelling out again for that brand. If you think yours is great for any reason I'd love to get a product rec--thanks in advance :)
ETA, unless I'm dead wrong and you need to tell me about it, I don't think I care if it's organic or not.
