Absolutely loved it. I also liked that it was pretty muted in colors but went perfectly with the nursery.</p> <p>As an alternative though, what about using the beautiful mobile you posted, but purchasing one of those aquariums that attach to the side of the cot. I wanted a pretty one but for the price, we got a mobile, which she loved, plus the music box that she still uses today! I hung paper lanterns above his crib, but they only move if I have the ceiling fan on high speed. The one I wanted that matched her bedding was just too expensive to justify. I agree with you, they're just so unattractive. Plus I'm avoiding any light up/noisy toys because I've read that they can be overstimulating. I've attached a pic of it in our old nursery before we moved. My son loved to play with it when he was awake (I'd run him under it and the raindrops would hit his face). We're doing a very simple, nature-themed nursery. It's pretty muted and contemporary, not a lot of typical whimsical baby decor.</p> <p>So I'm suck on Mobiles. I like the idea of one with all the bells and whistles (projection, music...etc), but they all seem so cartoony and don't go with our decor at all.</p> <p>I love the look of more simple mobiles, but I don't know if they would really accomplish their purpose (teaching self-soothing, keeping baby entertained...etc).
