It worked out really well for us since he understood that the little bed was for him and we kept telling him he's a big boy now. We kept the bed in our bedroom since he's never slept away from us. He's been successfully sleeping in his bed since. Last week I walked in and he had one leg over the edge... he is kind of timid in general so I feel like he was trying to psych himself up to climb out! Once she does, we'll see if it's a fluke like @Mamaof2: or if it happens again. He was content and sleeping well in his crib. I thought that he was ready for the new responsibility, but he didn't show any signs of climbing out. Well it was a huge mistake on my part, and we struggled for months to get him to sleep willingly in his room by himself.
