You'll do great! I was super nervous about that transition, too but it was actually quite nice after I calmed down the first few nights. She's a really light sleeper and I think we were waking HER up with our tossing and turning so she started to sleep a bit better in her own space. Luckily it sounds like you have a good set-up so she won't be too far away! :)

Not crazy. I kept LO in her pnp for 5.5 mo because she just felt way too little to be all alone in a room! I seriously dreaded it and the first few nights were hard. And we actually have two monitors because I'm so paranoid about one malfunctioning an dmd not hearing her that I couldn't sleep unless we have two going. lol

Buttttt 2 months later? (and actually about a week later)? It's awesome having our bedroom back. No more creeping in an trying not to trip over anything in the dark. No more whispering or playing charades with DH bc we're worried about waking her. No more being (extra) miserable when we are sick because we're too afraid to cough with LO in the room for fear of waking her. It's way better once you get used to it!

@MenagerieMama: I bawled my eyes out when we transitioned DS to the crib, but I have to say it was the best thing we ever did sleep wise. The first night was the hardest, but after that we didn't think twice. Like you, DS was a noisy sleeper and we were totally over responding. We all slept better once he was in his own room.

Could you transition to your LO to the crib but keep the crib in your room? That's what we did and it worked really well. He finally moved to his room at 8 months.

I had a really hard time transitioning Lo#1 to his crib (he was 6 months old!) but we ALL slept so much better once he was in his own room! The hardest is the first night- then you will see how great you sleep and you will be happy that you transitioned!

So my LO is going to have to transition to her crib soon. She currently naps in the crib (unless we're doing a co-nap in the bed so I can sleep and get my cuddles in!) but sleeps next to our bed in the PnP bassinet. However, the weight limit is 15 lbs and our LO is a chunk and will probably be hitting that by her 4 mo appointment if not earlier (she's 13 wk now).

I honestly think she'll do great - naps there fine, and when DH is doing bedtime because I'm away at work he often has her sleep in the crib and I move her when I get home at her first wake up, and she does fine. She'll probably sleep longer intervals because I probably over-respond to her when she's close and because I'm trying not to let her wake up DH. However - I am so sad about my baby not sleeping right next to me anymore! I know I'm being a bit silly, her nursery is actually connected to our bedroom by a bathroom (which is amazing) so I can just leave the doors open and we won't even need the sound on the monitor. But I just can't get over it! I really really am dreading the switch. I still wake up at night and make sure she's still breathing. And of course I won't just be able to pull her into bed and BF and then back to the PnP - I'll have to actually get up. But I do think she will wake up less and we have a nice glider.

Any advice? Am I the only crazy one?
