@blackbird: I decided against the inclined crib because I didn't want to spend the $ on a wedge when we already had the rnp. We started purees this weekend and his reflux was better so I decided to go for it. Now I feel like we've gone too far to go back.

I am terrified of this! I'm waiting until I can get my hands on a Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit before I attempt it.

I hope it gets better for you soon!

omg this scares me soooo badly. We washed our RnP Thursday night and E slept AWFUL. The worst night ever. I'm scarred. And she barfed everywhere like a maniac (reflux...but she rolls around in an inclined crib) I am so scared to transition her to a crib in a few months :(

I'll be keeping an eye out to see what works for you!!

ooh! I forgot to mention that our dream blanket is the bamboo one. They are sooo much softer than the muslin! I must look into this adult sized one...and start saving! :)

@petunia354: I haven't tried putting him on his side. I keep telling him that if he would just roll over he could lay on his tummy because he loves that for nap time. I may try the swaddle again. Thanks :)

We didn't transition until like 6.5 months, so it was a bit tough for us as well! We found out pretty quick that he wanted to sleep on his side and then shortly thereafter, he became a tummy sleeper. Have you tried putting him on his side? Also, we went back to swadding (arms out) because he liked the snugness of the rnp and the crib felt to wide open for him, if that makes sense. I think the feeling of having a blanket wrapped tight across his chest helped him to feel cuddled, or snug, like he did in the RNP. Good luck!! He'll get the hang of it soon, I'm sure.

@hellobeeboston: I'm doing the opposite of what you did. He has never been a consistent napper, so I'm moving him to the crib at night and letting him nap in the rnp.

We started doing the sleep sack with the transition btw.... And we would put him to sleep at night in the crib, but when he woke, moved him to RNP... First night he made it like 1/2 an hour, next night an hour, then he did 3, then I think 6/7 then the whole night. Took about a week and we were done with the rock n play.

We also started doing naps in the crib first!

The blanket is big, so I fold it into fourths and lay it on top. When we first started I was a nervous Nellie about having a blanket in his crib, so I only folded it in half and then tucked two sides between the crib mattress and rails. Now that I have seen that he doesn't really move the blanket much during the night I fold it into fourths and lay it on top. I never found that I needed to tuck it around him. The blanket is super expensive (to me) and I lusted after it for a good 2 months before I decided to buy it....but now that I have I wish I had gotten it sooner! It is heavy, but it is also breathable and soft, and isn't stiff like a lot of heavier blankets are.

It's going to be OK!! We went from the Rnp to the crib also - we did a slow transition but it went well and he sleeps great!! You can do it!!

@Mrs. Lion: did you wrap LL's legs like a swaddle or just lay the blanket on top? I don't know of the dream blanket, I'm off to research now.

We used a heavy blanket on LL's legs...it helped him so much. At first I would put the blanket on him while he was falling asleep and then take it off when we went to bed, but now I just leave it. I LOOVEEE the Aden Anias dream blanket! I wish they made a grown up size for me!

it will definitely get better! little guy is just getting used to the new surroundings. we didn't use an rnp, but due to reflux issues i did use a wedge in the crib with rolled up A+A blankets on each side of LO when he was first in his crib.

@Adira: I think his issue is relaxing his legs. As soon as he wakes up he pulls them up off the mattress into the position they would be in if he were in the rnp.

The RNP has a bit of an incline to it, right? Do you think he might sleep better if you got one of those crib wedges so he sleeps at an incline in his crib too?

We have used the RNP since birth and just started transitioning to the crib. The first night he woke almost hourly, but last night he woke nearly every half hour. Tell me it's going to be alright. Please!
