We have LO's crib under a vent, but we bought a vent deflector online so that it doesn't blow right down on her.

@grizz: Oh! That makes more sense and actually is very relevant in our nursery-- I'll have to go into the room and have DH make noise in our bedroom to see if I can hear-- it's either against the wall that butts up against our room, or against a stairwell.

@sotomorrow: @Foodnerd81: I asked DH and I had it wrong - he had heard to place the crib against the wall where the least activity/noise is going on. If we put the crib against any other wall it would be right next to a wall shared with a common area such as our living room.

We have DS's crib under a vent, not directly but close enough to effect the temp of the room instantly. Not going to lie, I obsessively watch his video monitor to check the temp in his room and adjust our thermostat all of the time to accomodate!

@grizz: I have L's crib next to a vent on the floor like @weagle - for the same reason - it's the only interior wall. No problems so far.

@grizz: @sotomorrow: I'm curious about it being on the wall when you walk in, too. It's not actually an option with the layout of our nursery, but why is that?

Our vents are on the floor, but the crib is right beside it. It's the only interior wall, which is where I wanted the crib placed. (Not the wall you see when you walk in, though.). We've just directed the vent away from the crib, and it has never bothered her.

I would move it. The air constantly changing may disturb sleep.

I've never read about it being on the wall you see when you walk in.... did anyone give a reason why?

I don't know how I missed this, but we put LO's crib on the wall you see immediately when you walk in to his room...Last night we noticed its directly below a vent! Should we leave it as is or change it? I don't want him to get too hot or cold, or have it blowing directly on him. I have read a couple of places that it should be on the wall you see when you walk in but we weren't sure if the vent placement negates that.

*PS - Thank you all for entertaining all my silly first time mom questions like this :)
