I would just take the crib, both of my kids hate the pack n play! Maybe try her in the pack n play at your current house for a night or two to see how she goes, then make a decision based on how she sleeps.

I'm going to be the odd one out and say no no no! To the pack and play.

We are in England right now and my aunt arranged to set up a pack and play here, and B hates it! He was waking up every hour the first few nights and scratching his nails on the mesh.

After 3 nights I put him in the bed next to me and its been working great.

I say get a cheapie Walmart crib shipped to the new place! You can resell it afterwards if necessary.

I'd go with a PnP, babies at that age don't really care where they sleep. We took DD overseas from 5.5 months to 7 months and she slept in about five different cribs during that time - never had a problem. And then from 7.5 months to 8 months we were travelling for DH's work so that was another new sleep environment. And now from 9 months to just shy of ten months, we were in the process of moving cross country and she slept in four different cribs in the space of two weeks - no issues.

Long story short, most babies I don't think are that fussed about where they're sleeping. We always brought LO's monitor so she'd have the same night light near her cot, and the few loveys she sleeps with in her or at home. Just those touches of familiarity seemed to be all she needed.

A sleeps well in both the crib and pnp, if H has a pnp I'd use that or a travel crib :)

I would agree with keeping the mattress, and finding a cheap-y crib or travel crib while you're in the rental.

At that age, my son didn't care which crib he was in, he had no problem switching among his crib at home, the crib at my ILs home and the pack and play. The thing that made it tough, however, was sticking to the routine.

Glad everything went through.

I know you have struggled with sleep so I would suggest keeping her mattress the same if possible. She shouldn't care what crib it actually is.

You can get the Graco cribs from Walmart (free ship to store) for about $100 and just keep her mattress with you and she should never know the difference.

I third the PnP suggestion. My LO sleeps in it for weeks at a time while we're traveling with no problems. Yay for renters!

It might be worth finding a cheapie on craigslist or something, just to get you through. Thats what we did for the 6 weeks we were home visiting my parents. C has also been in the crib since 2-3 weeks old. She did fine.

ETA: She had no issues with a different mattress either. She slept just fine. I did, however, make sure we had familiar things like her sleep sheep and her lovey.

My daughter has slept in a pack n' play for a week at a time on two separate occassions and she did fine. Honestly, it's such a short window I think she'd do fine.

P.S congrats on finding the renters!!!!

Woohoo for sleeping through the night!!!

Do you have a pack n play? She's young enough, I think that would work fine to have her sleep in for a couple of months.

H has been sleeping in her crib since she was a few weeks old. And she started STTN at 8 weeks, with a couple of weeks of 4 mos sleep regression that we seem to be getting over (I don't dare post the details bc I don't want to jinx!). So overall, the crib has been a success:)

We are building a house in SC, and we are scheduled to close first week of Aug. We found renters who need to move in our FL home by June 15, so we are going to rent a furnished place for 6 or 7 weeks in SC and have movers put our stuff in storage until we need it delivered. H's crib is big and heavy mahogany wood (the PBk Larkin ) and it'd be lovely for the movers to handle it until we move into our new house.....Is it a terrible idea to buy some type of temporary crib for her to sleep in for 2 months instead of lugging her whole crib to the rental, just to lug it again to our new house?

Or should we just suck it up since it's pretty much all she knows and bring it with us/move it twice?
