Society 6 is one of my fave places to get art. I searched "tuscan" and sooo much pretty stuff came up. That may be a good jumping off point for art inspiration.

I loved these piece of art I came across on Overstock before. It's orangey/brown maybe sort of tuscan? I think these or something in these shapes would look great to fill in that tall space above the couch.

http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Orange-Flowers-Hand-painted-Canvas-Art-Set/5105713/product.html?refccid=OBEFPYYGKZNJXZKGC7DMNWJVBA&searchidx=96

http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Modern-Red-Flowers-Hand-painted-Oil-on-Canvas-4-piece-Painting/8687731/product.html

I agree that curtains could definitely warm it up and tie the room together.

I like the rug! I think to get a more Tuscan look, I'd add some wrought iron/oil rubbed bronze accents (sconces or lamps maybe) and maybe some rustic stone or wood shelves on the wall behind the couch for displaying things. Do you have a color scheme in mind? It seems like most Tuscan rooms go with red/rust and gold accents, but I might go for something a little different based on my own taste. I'd choose a favorite picture of the countryside and pull a palette from there to inspire textile choices for curtains and throw pillows. The first two below are kind of nice twists on the theme while the third is more literal.

i think curtains and brighter pillows would be great :)

personally I like a light/white looking room, so I'd go lighter for the curtains and pillows, but choose what you enjoy :)

I think the rug is really nice!

I think everything looks fine together, but because everything is brown/beige, it all kind of blends in.

Are you planning on painting, or getting window treatments? Throw pillows (that aren't brown) would be an easy first step to add color. Cool plates on the wall could be very Tuscan.

I think the pillows you have in the darker colors will repel stains better than lighter colors, but a contrasting olive green or sage green color palette might look nice too.

The wall I'd go with a very large painting (if you can afford one), or otherwise a series (like 3?) of larger canvas photos of your family.

Maybe a plant in the corner or on one side of the couches? Might bring in a little more green and organic materials to break up the earth tones and wood. Or maybe a table lamp that has a green base.

I think the rug looks great! You're really only missing curtains and art. I'd probably introduce a little color in one or both of those. I think curtains look good with plantation shutters. I'll attach a photo as an example.

I'm so far from being a designer, or knowing what works w/ what so I value opinions.

What do you think of the combo we have? Does the rug go w/ the couches and table? What about the pillows? (DH doesn't like them, so I need ideas for replacements). Should I add curtains? (you can't tell, but we have plantation shutters - do curtains clash?)

I'm trying to go for a Tuscan look. Not sure what to put on the wall, so ideas are welcome.
