I think to get a more Tuscan look, I'd add some wrought iron/oil rubbed bronze accents (sconces or lamps maybe) and maybe some rustic stone or wood shelves on the wall behind the couch for displaying things. Do you have a color scheme in mind? It seems like most Tuscan rooms go with red/rust and gold accents, but I might go for something a little different based on my own taste. I'd choose a favorite picture of the countryside and pull a palette from there to inspire textile choices for curtains and throw pillows. Throw pillows (that aren't brown) would be an easy first step to add color. Might bring in a little more green and organic materials to break up the earth tones and wood. Does the rug go w/ the couches and table? What about the pillows? (DH doesn't like them, so I need ideas for replacements). Should I add curtains?
