That's how I'm reading it...but we could both be reading it wrong. The thing I love about crocheting is it goes so fast and it's easy to undo a row and start over...so try doing it a different way (e.g. not going to the semi-colon) and see if that works). Or sometimes a patten will not seem to be working but if you keep going it starts to turn out. Where did you get the pattern? A book, online or on etsy? If it's online or etsy there could be an error...you could email and see if they could help you out.

I'm a total crochet beginner, but I'm making a baby blanket. So far I feel comfortable with all the stitches, but the directions are making me crazy!

I'm pretty positive that I did row 1 correctly. But row 2 is confusing me. I thought the repeat was just the stuff between the asterisks, but it goes all the way to the semi-colon, right? It would make sense if all of the 3dcs go in the skipped spaces from row 1, but it doesn't seem to be working that way. Any advice?

With larger hook, ch 90.

Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 6th ch from hook, dc in next 4 ch, ch 1, skip next ch, [dc in next 5 ch, ch 1, skip next ch] 13 times, dc in last ch; turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in first dc, * ch 2, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 2 **, 3 dc in next ch-1 space; repeat from * to last 2 sts, end at **; skip next ch, 2 dc in next ch; turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, * dc in next ch-2 space, ch 1, dc in next ch-2 space **, dc in next 3 dc; repeat from * to last 2 sts, end at **; dc in next dc and top of ch-3; turn.
