I do not love the way they look (especially on adults), but DS asked for a pair when we saw them at Nordstrom Rack. They were a good price and since he specifically asked, I couldn't say no. Now he LIVES in them. He loves them, so I can't really argue with that.

My kids do like their crocs. I buy them on sale in their next size. The main drawback is that they are not safe near escalators, as there have been many accidents involving the rubber getting caught and little feet getting mangled. Not a shoe to wear to the mall, etc. Also, with regards to playground wear, they are awesome for climbing because they are grippy. But they are terrible for getting pebbles, mulch, and other playground ground cover, in the shoes.

I like them for gardening and water play. They are sooooo ugly, but I have a soft spot in my heart for them since I used to live near where they were originally made in Colorado. I used to drive through Niwot every day on my way to college.

For the boys I've bought the knock offs since I'm cheap :silly: I'd love a pair of Native's for myself, but haven't found the color I want for the cost involved.

@BabyBoecksMom: We have it in regular and I think it's wide enough for DD. The wide fit (in a regular size) is one of the things I like the most.

@Mamasig: I know...that's the only drawback. They are so incredibly comfortable, just not really all that cute. And the "normal" crocs that DH wears are just plain hideous!

Our daycare actually has a policy against sending kiddos in with crocs because they say they aren't good for climbing and such, so I've stayed away from them. I'd love to hear from others though if they haven't had that issue! We have a pair of stride right water proof shoes but they take forever to dry

As a teacher, I live in these since I can not wear flip flops. I bought them when I was pregnant and I've never looked back.

Next year when LO is better at walking he will be getting a pair.

DD has been in a pair since she started walking. It rains a lot around here so I bought her the rainboots and she loves them. I think it's because they're so light and easy to put on herself. My mom has been getting them for her every year (2 sizes up because it seems to work best for her chubby feet).

This year, she was also gifted the slip-ons and she loves those as well, but going by the Crocs comfy fit guide, I'd also get them a size up (but maybe just 1 size). Hers now fit just right and it seems small for the type of shoe it is.

Even if we weren't gifted them, I'd buy them every year for comfort.

So I was a big crocs hater before I had kids because I do NOT think they are even remotely cute.

However, we ended up with a pair as a gift and we took them on a beach vacation and I was SOLD. They are the best summer shoe ever! It's awesome that they are comfy (my kids love the textured foot bed), lots of kids can put them on themselves, and they can get wet and just rinsed off.

Lately we've been buying the Croc Keeley sandal. They have an open toe (my kids like better), are super easy on/off (velcro), but are cuter than the usual croc. We just bought our third pair! They are much cheaper on amazon, and there's a purple pair online at REI for $16.

We go back and forth from natives and crocs. We are fans of both in our house as summer shoes. DS is in between sizes in crocs right now though so it's natives this season. I bought all of DS' past crocs/natives on sale though for around $20 a pair! And it's his daily summer shoe, def worth it!

I was basically forced into buying them on our last vacation (LO refused to wear the Keens I bought for her, and the only shoes her size that the cruise carried were crocs). I hated paying for them too but just this morning I was talking about getting her another pair in the next size up because we love them so much. They are easy to clean, easy for LO to take off and put on, she can wear them in the rain or around water, she can wear them with socks or without socks, and each pair spans two sizes so they last a long time. Plus LO really loves them so I assume they are comfy for her.

I got LO a pair from Target for this summer since my sister swore by them for her DS. I would probably stick with cheap ones until you see if they work for your LO's feet. I have a pair of Mary Jane crocs that I love for the beach, the pool, etc.
