DD has a minor sacral dimple. The ped looked at it when she as first born and said it was closed and everything looked ok. She's now 20 months and everything has been fine and we haven't needed anything additional. I keep an eye on it and it hasn't changed.

Ds2 has a deep sacral dimple and the pedi mentioned it at our first appt but said it looks good and not for concern, we'll continue to monitor it. Good luck!

I was worried about this but my LO's dimple is below the start of her but crack and doc said that tethered cord dimples are always above the crack and he wasn't worried a bit.

When ds was 2 weeks the ped also saw sacral dimple and referred us for MRI in case of tethered cord.

After research we found out this is a fairly recent thing and there is lacking in research. I'm all for research but wasn't going to put my baby through MRI for it at a 4-5 months old. According to the limited research they have it was like 1% of sacral dimple babies hVe tethered cord and need surgery as infants. Don't trust all my numbers I'm j using my memory..

We talked to the speciAlists and they said to watch out for pain r discomfort while urinating or while using his legs. Could be a sign of tethered cord.

We also saw a different older ped who gave his opinion.. That ds barely had a sacral dimple and that these days Drs are putting babies thru all this unnecessary tests etc.. Lol obviously he is pretty old school..

Anyway all that to say we decided to opt out of the MRI and just watch him. He's fine at 15 mo.

No experience with the crooked butt crack. But the Dr was concerned tht DS had a tethered spine due to a very deep sacral dimple. He had an MRI around 3 weeks old I think. I was worried they would have to wait longer if he didn't cooperate and that requires sedation. Everything checked out fine. Dr Google is the worst. I hope everything turns out to be ok!

At LO's two month appointment his doctor raised a concern about his crooked butt crack. She will check him again at 4 months to see if he needs an MRI to look for a tethered spine. I didn't ask questions because I was feeling pretty relaxed at the moment and felt like I could put it out of my mind until the next appointment. Ha.

Anyone else have experience with this? I'm trying to stay away from Google.
