@T.H.O.U.: I'm hoping that it's not. I repeatedly asked the Dr. if they would be an issue and she said no....

It just really sucks that the week this happened is the week of travel.

My parents used to travel with my brother who had a club foot and cast. Mostly long car trips but my mom always said it was never an issue.

The only thing I can think of is a doctor's note explaining what the reason for the casts is...might be helpful at the security line, in case they ask questions, you know?

Oh yikes! I haven't been in that situation myself but I hope your LO sleeps well on the plane. Mine did at a slightly older age.

Any last minute suggestions for traveling across country (plane) with a 10 week old by yourself? We leave at 6:30am tomorrow morning. (I should probably be packing)

I was feeling pretty good about it up until this morning when DD had an appointment to look at her feet with an orthopedist. I thought it would just be a consult since the pediatrician hadn't been too concerned. Well turns out she has slight club foot that could be easily corrected with special shoes, but the Dr. said it would be quicker and better to do a cast for one week and then the shoes.

So here we are less than 24 hours before our trip and DD has full leg casts. Other than actually having them put on, she seems to not mind them. But I'm concerned they will cause issues while traveling for 6 hours on my lap since she can't be quite as cuddly.

Anyone have any experience traveling in a similar situation?
