Thanks for all the advice and for sharing your experiences.

I talked to my gym last night and it turns out they've gotten rid of the 30 days notice requirement, so I can just tell them when I want to suspend my membership and it will be taken care of within a few business days. So glad to know that, if I feel like it, I can still workout right up until baby's arrival!

I worked out until 38 weeks and my LO was born via a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks.

I think it's kind of silly that your gym doesn't offer drop-in rates...what about a 5- or 10-class pass? I was fortunate that my friends just opened a new box so I was able to work out there for free as they were renovating.

Otherwise, I do know a few women who worked out until past their due date.

I went till 39 weeks and stopped when I stopped working (didn't seem appropriate to not work but keep going to the gym). He was almost a full 2 weeks late but it was easy (cause of working out). Working out post baby has been harder because of full boobs and the hours my gym had.

@kge: Holy moly - you are superwoman! Wishing you a fast and easy L&D. I'm sure all those WODs you've done for the last 9+ months will help!

Of the PG women at our box, I know of two who were in the gym up to or past their due date. One girl currently is still coming in at 30-35 weeks, but is restricted on what she can do by her doctor. I'm at 26 weeks right now and still getting in 3-4 days a week, with increasing modifications, so I'll be following this thread.

Similarly, my membership rolls over about 10 days before my due date, so I'll have some kind of decision to make in May - we can pay to drop in though, so I may just do that, particularly if I'm not getting in more than 2-3 days a week.

i crossfitted 3-4 days/wk throughout my entire pregnancy. am 40+6 today & in labor. yesterday i did a wod & felt fine to workout (bc i was desperately trying to speed up labor). i was definitely overdue & bored. i switched to drop in once my monthly pass was up 3 days before due date, i would hope your coaches would accomodate your scenario.

i've always heard that women who stay active go late. the study that came out last year (i think?) makes a lot a of sense to me- the gist of it was that women go into labor when they reach their metabolic danger zone.

I read it in this book: http://www.amazon.com/Exercising-Through-Pregnancy-James-Clapp/dp/1936374331/ref=dp_ob_title_bk lots and lots of scientific data about exercising while pregnant and all the benefits; including an earlier delivery...statistically speaking! Watch me go 40+ weeks now, lol.

I doubled up on the bands because DAMN i am HEAVY and my arms just can't pull myself and the baby up anymore, LOL. They're awkward but at least my arms should look good in a month, right? Right? Lol

@blackbird: Oh wow. I'd never heard that statistic about delivering earlier when active throughout pregnancy. That is kind of fascinating!

Yeah, I think I'll talk to them tonight and see if I can work something out.

And props to you on Fran...that was the WOD the first day I tried Crossfit! Also, if you're still doing pull-ups you're a better woman than I! I've been modifying with inverted rows.

Still going strong at 35.5 weeks! I did Fran last night! Took me almost 11 minutes, though :P

All the Crossfit mamas at my gym delivered around week 38, by the way!!!!! Nobody I know has gone past 40 weeks!

I'd talk to them and see if they're willing to let you skate on the 30 day notice. I know our head coach is totally cool with an email that says, "hey i had the baby, put my membership on hold please!" because she wants me to keep working out as long as I possibly can

Statistically, if you're very active, you deliver about 9 days earlier than your due date.

Just wondering how long any of you bees who crossfitted during pregnancy kept it up?

I'm 34 weeks and still going strong (well.....with significant modifications) at the gym and intend to go for as long as I can. My gym, however, requires 30 days notice to put a membership on hold, and they no longer offer the option to just pay for drop-in classes, so I'm thinking that since the end of the month is upon us, it might be wise to give notice that I will be suspending my membership as of April 1. I'm due April 9.

Did you/anyone you know continue to work out beyond 38-39 weeks? I'm probably being overly Type A, but I don't want to give up my membership on April 1 only to go overdue and feel bored/inactive in the meantime. I've just enjoyed my workouts so much during pregnancy that I want to keep going for as long as possible :)

Should I just suspend as of April 1, or should I talk to them and see if I can work out some sort of alternative arrangement where I just suspend as soon as baby is born?
