I've been doing my best not to cross my legs this whole time because supposedly it causes spider veins...yuck! I have read that on quite a few pregnancy sites so I'm taking it seriously.

@shopaholic: I don't remember, it was so long ago. Probably sometime towards the beginning of my 3rd trimester.

@artbee: LOL! When do you start sitting on the exercise ball?

@shopaholic: I think it really helps! I only had to push for an hour, and my nurse at the hospital said that it's usually 2 hours for the first birth. I give credit to sitting like a man and I would sit on an exercise ball a lot.

I had to stop and learn to just keep my feet on the floor, not good when I was a sit with one leg under me or legs crossed kind of girl for years!

The teacher at my childbirth class told us not to cross our legs. She said sit like a man, legs apart and very comfy. It will help get the baby in a better position to come out.

Oh yes. I remember at the end I could only sit straight up. And I couldn't even close my legs together. Not very lady like at work.

I'm 37 and a half weeks and I still cross my legs! It's uncomfortable though, but I hate sitting with both feet on the floor. It makes my back arch!

I have noticed the crossing the legs is must more uncomfortable too. Definitely never thought about that too. My Mom and sister were laughing at me the other day cause they said I was starting to waddle. But I don't think that I do it every day or anything, yet anyway!

It never occurred to me that this weird little "habit" was something I'd eventually have to drop during pregnancy. Last week at a dinner party, a friend commented she was amazed that I could still cross my legs! No doubt, it's become increasingly uncomfortable, but such an unconscious habit! Actually, sitting any which way these days is uncomfortable for more than a few minutes. Nothing else. Just wanted to share this randumb thought. :)
This, and I think I've started to waddle. *doh*
