@matador84: @mrsjyw: Thanks!

@Ra: @photojane: I have no idea if she'll sleep on me. She actually has been sleeping pretty well in her crib (she's woken up a few times but is easy to get back to sleep). I could always try that as a last resort if need be.

@lawbee11: oh no! So sorry she's sick! Croup is the worst. I've tried elevating when Sadie's had ear infections (laying flat was awful for her), but she always ended up head down like you mentioned. She moves around so much. She had to sleep on me in her rocker, which she would never normally do.

@lawbee11: Bummer that she won't sleep with you guys! He hadn't slept with us for several months at that point but I was so worried about him I couldn't sleep without him there. It's so hard on us mamas when out LOs are sick.

Will she sleep on you? When B had croup I slept in the recliner in his bedroom with him on my chest.

For DS what helped the most with croup was breathing in cold air. I was so scared because the cough sounds awful, the ped said it typically seems worse than it actually is. Hoping it gets better soon!

@Smurfette: That's good to hear. I think we'll give it a shot.

@coopsmama: Unfortunately she will not sleep in our bed. I'm worried about her so I sorta wish that was an option!

@looch: That's a good idea! Thanks.

@78h2o: I think she must have a milder case...I thought it was just a bad cold. Her cough is pretty bad, though. The ped prescribed an oral steroid so hopefully she'll be better in a few days! And thanks for the reminder...will do a steam session with her before bed tonight.

Croup sucks, I'm sorry! We ended up in the ER the first night she had it bad and they gave her a steroid treatment that really seemed to help. I didn't elevate her bed...I had the same worries you mentioned. I did a lot of steam sessions in the bathroom and I held her a lot. The worst was over quickly. I hope your LO feels better soon.

We have R's mattress elevated still from when she had a cough a couple weeks ago. I forget to take the towels out, even when changing her sheet. But I have noticed that she is staying in that corner more since it is elevated.

@mrbee: She will nap in her stroller but I doubt she would sleep all night in it.

We always elevate the mattress and most of the time he ends up at the bottom of it but he's never turned around though he will on a normal night.

LO has croup :(

The pediatrician suggested elevating her crib mattress so that she sleeps at an incline. The problem is she moves around so much in her sleep. Is there even any point to me doing this? I'm worried she'll injure herself or actually end up with her head at the other end (and therefore sleeping at a declined angle) which could possibly make it worse.

Anyone have experience with this?
