Passports! I'm sure you know that, but good to put on the list. Maybe throw in one of those little cabinet babyproofing things if your kids still get into things. You might be able to tell from pictures if that would help on the furniture they have in the cabin/bathroom.

@erinbaderin: That's a great tip! Okay, so maybe my one reusable will be enough. I'll just bring a couple disposable ones to be on the safe side. And thanks for the tupperware tip. That's a great idea!

@Adira: We brought a smallish/medium sized one? That's super not helpful. Maybe 4x8? Big enough for a few muffins and mini croissants that we ate poolside at snack time. For swim diapers I just have one per kid - they dry so fast, it was never a problem.

@cabbagerose: I wish I had had your blowup tub advice a month ago, what a great idea! We were at a resort and discovered there was only a shower, and it was a nightly battle to get B clean - we finally ended up having him in the shower stall, not under the water, wearing goggles I had to buy at the gift shop, getting a sponge bath. It was ridiculous.

No utensils, and limit the snacks. Bring some ziplock bags to grab fruit and crackers from the buffet. The staff can inform you of allergens if you ask. No beach toys, it takes up space, and they might be tempted to use them in the pools, which they can't if they aren't potty trained. No books, load some books into the tablets and read from those. Less toys! Royal Caribbean usually has a toy check out option on board in the kids club. Freshly bleached toys can be checked out for your room and returned you leave. Ask once you get on board! They might have books too.

I would skip pack and play sheets, the provided pack and play will have something. Also the sound machine, just download a white noise app for your phone. Beach toys are a bulky PITA to pack, we skipped them and just bought a set at the gift shop (we were at a resort but I assume a ship will have them too). We brought a Tupperware container that we used all the time - bring it to the buffet and pick up some snacks to tide you over through the day, we always grabbed some muffins, croissants, and fruit for later. Might be worth investing in reusable swim diapers (I like Applecheeks) - diapers are so bulky, it would be a good space saver.

@cabbagerose: Yeah, my stroller is a side-by-side, so I can definitely see that being an issue. I suspect we'll mostly use it in the airport and then once we get off the ship. My kids are 2 and 4, so definitely old enough to walk around on the ship. And our room does have a tub!

If the umbrella stroller is a side by side it will not fit though the door of the cabin. I also used a carrier it was nice to have hands free and let the little one sleep. are your little ones use to the shower, depending on what line there is not a tub. I took a blow up tub and it worked great, also took it with us to the beach. Also sea bands for the kids they work greathttps://www.amazon.com/Sea-Band-Child-Wrist-Varies/dp/B005CD81R4/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1486495140&sr=8-1&keywords=kids%2Bnausea%2Bbands&th=1

I wouldn't worry too much about the snacks unless your boys are picky. I found that the buffet was always open when my toddler was awake, so we just ran there to pick up fruit, crackers, yogurt, etc. I thought it was one of the best things about cruising!

@looch: Oh yeah, I didn't list it, but definitely a beach bag would be needed! And a folding cube for the toys is a good idea. I'm definitely worried about not bringing enough snacks... but I'm also worried about packing too much stuff and it being unmanageable traveling around the airport and to/from the port. I do think our room has a tub though!

@pwnstar: Good catch. I'll want to bring one of those!

Your list looks a lot like mine, lol. I bring a TON of stuff with me because it pains me to pay inflated prices at destinations.

Beach bag or large tote to carry your stuff to the beach or pool and not have to unpack your travel bags. I also employ packing cubes, each of us gets one and I always know where all of our clothes are and I can easily unpack from suitcases into drawers. I also usually bring a folding cube to corral all my son's toys that migrate all over the room.

I always bring toys and stuff for my son, he's the kind of kid that needs a real shovel to dig on the beach, lol. I also bring something for my husband and I to do, like a pack of playing cards or magazines. And snacks... I pack like a suitcase of snacks for the three of us.

I would check to see if the bathroom has a tub or not, not sure if your kids are okay with a shower?

@yoursilverlining: Thanks! I will definitely check about the couch situation in our room. Not having to bring the air mattress would be HUGE. And I'll definitely have to check the surge protector/cord rules. Good point about the swim diapers. I probably don't need that many. And thanks for the tip on beach toys! Ahhh! I'm excited!!!

I haven’t cruised with 2 (obviously, as I have only one lo lol) but have cruised several times with LO and the things I question on your list are:

Air mattress – check your room. If it has a sofa in it, it likely pulls out into a small bed that’s perfect for toddlers. You will be very, very tight on space to set up both a P&P and an air mattress.

shampoo/conditioner – every cruise I’ve been on provides these as well as lotion and body wash/soap just like a hotel

Surge protector/extension cord/chargers – I wouldn’t bring extension cords. On some cruise lines surge protectors are not allowed, so you may want to check (or hide it when you leave your room).

utensils - why? Could they use regular forks and teaspoons for 5 days – bringing your own seems a huge PITA

Tylenol/Motrin/Benadryl/Claritin – I would bring 1 of either Tylenol or Motrin. Same on B/C. The boat will have a gift shop with meds like this (and a nurse station as well if need be).

Beach toys - space issue in packing, my LO was always content enough with using a plastic cup I snagged on board to dig in the sand with and some ships have toys on their island that you can use or buy for not that much $ if you are looking to save space

Swim diapers – don’t know that you will need that many. Littles can’t go in the pool with swim diapers so you would only need them for the days you go to the beach, and maybe for splash pad if your boat has one.

@lawbee11: Hmm... the website is down right now, so I can't check, but we are in one of the larger suites, so I think we'd have room for both. But if there was a couch we can convert to a bed, that would be even better as one less thing we'd have to bring!

Good call about hand sanitizer. I could use the baby wipes to sanitize surfaces though, right?

Is there not a couch that turns into a bed for Xander? I don't see how you'll have room for a PNP and an air mattress (unless you're in a big suite). We cruised in November and LO slept on the couch (it converted to a bed).

We also stocked up on stuff like Pepto Bismol, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes (for hands and for surfaces). Ours provided shampoo, conditioner, soap. Oh and I brought razors. Ours didn't allow extension cords so you may want to double check that.

Technically Xander's not a toddler (he'll be 4), but close enough!

I'd love any advice or suggestions people have. We're going on a 4-night cruise to the Bahamas in April. We're flying down a day early and spending a night in a hotel before the cruise, so 5 nights of travel. Here are my thoughts on what I'm bringing. Please let me know if I missed anything or you can think of anything to help!

- Desitin
