My 5 month old cries in her sleep starting around 4-5 am, until she wakes up. Is this a thing? She'll let out a cry for about 5 seconds and then stop. But, it goes on every 30 mins, until she wakes around 6:30am. When she wakes up, she isnt crying. She's usually just playing by herself. I'm assuming its normal, but I'm not sure.

@Foodnerd81: Yep, two copays, two bills, two deductibles, all that good stuff. Technically I can take one in and the other can be there and only pay for one baby. But they will not look at the other one or talk about that one. So I COULD take one in, have his ears checked and if he had an ear infection turn around and make an appointment for the other baby to have it checked too, assuming if one is sick the other is too (although that's not always the case). Anyway, that would save us money, but ain't nobody got time for that!

I would guess teething or possibly ear infection. C was doing something similar before she was diagnosed with an ear infection, but she kind of kept doing it after anyway, and she has been working on a bunch of teeth...

@twodoghouse: random off topic question- do you have to pay two copays if you bring both twins in to have their ears checked? I feel like an idiot sometimes when I bring her in to be checked and pay $25 to have them hold her down and look in her ears only to find out she's just cranky. Even more annoying if it was double.

My daughter does the crying in sleep thing too! She's also 9 months old. She doesn't do it all the time and it usually doesn't last very long but it is weird. One time it was quite long and loud and I couldn't figure out how she could still be sleeping, but she was. It could be teething...she got 4 teeth in the last month and it looks like a few more are coming out.

@twodoghouse: aw, sorry your littles are having such a hard time! I don't feel like Fiona is having stomach issues... but who knows I guess! Its bizarre because she has gone down to sleep fine and she has woken a little more frequently but then goes right back to sleep with her paci. but the crying while sleeping i'm like... i dunno what to do with you kid because usually the goal is to get you to sleep and you're already asleep. lol.

This is actually the norm for Blake when he's having some sort of discomfort (mostly tummy-related because we still can't figure out solids!!!). Teething for him lately means screaming his head off like a maniac, not his usually crying in his sleep. But he's a bad sleeper anyway, so it's hard to tell what's normal for others.

(Also the last couple nights have been so insane that I'm taking A and B to the ped today to be checked for ear infections, but I'm sure they're going to say they are just teething. Sigh.)

So my LO (9mo) has almost always woken up around 6:30am for the day, and almost always happy. She generally just sits up and starts playing with the paci plushies in her crib, babbling a bit and happy until we get upstairs to grab her. The last few days she has been crying on and off WHILE sleeping from about 4:30am on, then waking up around her normal time crying and super upset.

It's bizarre. Especially the crying while she is asleep thing. I don't really know what to do because she is asleep so it doesn't really seem like she needs to be soothed... so I just let her be.

Anyways. I know it doesn't really matter WHY because she'll do it until she doesn't and I can't change it anyways. But just curious if others have experienced this in conjunction with teething? That's my best guess because she has been working on her first tooth all this week. I don't really think it is the 9mo regression because I think we did that a few weeks ago.
