My eldest cries at least 75% of the time. I've tried explaining to him that it's poor sportsmanship. He's gotten better as he's gotten older and just pouts and asks for another game. Once in a while I'll lose on purpose so that it makes him feel good so he won't hate the game.

Oh man, this reminds me, I have this memory from when I was a kid. I was 10, and I was at a friend's house and we were playing Monopoly. She was 8. I landed on Boardwalk, so I decided to buy it. She. Flipped. Out. Full on tantrum. I remember her mom coming in, took her away while she kicked and screamed at the top of her lungs, and she had to go to her room. Meanwhile I just sat there, thinking "what did I do?".
Never played Monopoly with her again...

I've had middle schoolers sob--not cry, sob--in class for getting an A- rather than an A+. So....sounds normal for an under 5?

Do your kids ever do this? Usually my kids are pretty good sports, but if one kid keeps losing at a game... sometimes they can take it a little hard.

Our daughter cried the other day because she lost at Uno! I think she's just not used to losing, because she's somehow gotten so good at Uno that she wins almost every game!! Meanwhile I will have half the deck in my hands because I keep getting +4 cards.
