My kids have crazy curls. I always cut them short and miss their curls for a bit but then they grow out again

They come back for sure. We cut LO's hair at 13 months, short, and I was SO sad because all his baby curls were gone. We then didn't cut it again for like 9 months and by that time it was a mop of curls!! The texture was a bit different though--a little coarser, not as silky.

I heard that and my stylist who I've known for years says that isn't true. We cut his hair and they came back!

The short trims always brought the curls back.

I'm speaking from my own experience, but they came back. The shorter my hair, the curlier it gets. H's shorter hair curls more than her longer hair. Do either of you have natural curls?

I voted other. Each time they come back more as a wave than curls.

I've never heard of that! DS1 kept his curls even after many haircuts! We cut it on the shorter side.

My niece lost her cute curls as she got older and her hair got heavier and thicker.

They have come back every time we cut them. I was worried too but they don't seem to be going anywhere!

DS had a mop of curls when we took him for his first haircut. We didnt get it cut super short because we still wanted it to be long enough to curl.

It was only a few weeks before it was shaggy and in need of another trim. I took him for a second haircut, which lasted for another few weeks.

DH decided for LO's third haircut, to go shorter, but shorter meant no visible curls. He thinks I'm crazy, but I've always heard that if you cut off a baby's curls, they won't come back.

What's been your experience?
