Love seeing all these curls! I am obsessed with LO’s so I hope they stick around - glad to have some tips! Her hair is a crazy mess this morning and now I have a better idea what to do

DD has major curls thanks to DH’s Egyptian side. We also never brush when dry, and comb through curls with a wet brush after applying Cantu Shea butter for natural hair. Just let it air dry and clip to the side.

My dd has the cutest curls, I love them!

I use a leave-in conditioner / detangling spray before I try combing through her hair, and I use a wide-tooth comb.
If it's getting a little crazy I have this: Garnier Fructis Style Curl Renew Reactivating Milk Spray, it just smooths out her curls / removes the frizz.

I'm following along - my three year old has curly hair like this and I have no clue what to do with it. This advice is very helpful! Her hair is nothing like what I'm used to, and I have no clue where she got it...but it's adorable! :)

@bhbee: So cute! 😍 We have the same jumper!
V has very similar hair and I do like @MrsSRS: suggested. I only wash her hair 2x a week. I put a light weight curling cream in her hair, gently comb it through and scrunch it. Every morning, I get her hair wet, add the tiniest amount of curl cream and lightly scrunch again. Shea moisture has a line for kids that you might like. V has been using my stuff since I have curly hair. too.

My 2 year old’s hair looks super similar. We use honest detangler in the bath and brush with a wet brush while it’s wet to get the knots out. That’s it. No brushing when dry or when out of the bath. My husband is always trying to brush it and I have to stop him! I have curly hair too but he is bald so clearly does not get it!

You have to get it wet then use a comb for tangles. So every morning you want to spray heavily with a mister bottle of water-you can add a squirt of conditioner to the bottle if you like, then detangle with a comb and scrunch a little. Voila! It seems like everybody has a different opinion about what product to try. I would try scrunching in a little gel made for curls. Whatever you see at target/CVS that fits your price point and ingredient preferences.

Such cute curls!!!

J&J has a curly line in the kids (not baby) section....it has a super hero girl on the bottle.

I like using the shampoo & leave in conditioner on my DD. We wet hair in the AM and then use the leave in conditioner as our styling product. I work it in & give her hair a little scrunch.

Bath nights = shampoo & a little leave in conditioner.

I don't brush curls ever.....if you must...use a wide tooth comb.

My third (20 months) finally got DH’s curly hair. They are really cute, bouncy ringlets - her hair is still really soft and fine (I expect she’ll get more texture as dh has more, but it will probably stay on the looser/wavier side). I think it’s needing more help as it gets longer though.

Given no one else has more than light wave I’m not sure what to do with it. I can see that less brushing is more but how does that work with tangles? What products work best to show off the cuteness? Her original hair growth was just a strip down the middle (that hangs right in her face) and is totally straight so we clip that to the side. I hope that curls too eventually!

Thanks for helping out a straight haired mama :silly:
