@hilsy85: I totally hear you, G snacks 10X more when we're home, more specifically when we're near the kitchen. If we stay away from the kitchen, he rarely wants a snack actually!

@lovehoneybee: yeah I think it will be easier when the weather gets nicer so we can go outside and he can be distracted too...I feel like when we're home he snacks more (like anyone else I guess!).

@scg00387: I am trying to do that more, since I know it's the right thing to do,,,but not only am I worried about weight, I also feel like then he's likely to snack more and thus be less hungry at the next meal. And DH is also sooo bad about laughing when he's being naughty! It is tough sometimes, they are so cute (and I love how he says nose! IG video of this needed stat!)

@hilsy85: I cave sometimes and split a cheese stick with him. Something small that will tide him over but not fill him up too much. It is hard when they don't understand the concept of time and future!

We have the FP Booster seat chair, and we like it a lot!

We just end the meal immediately if he throws food - but I know that would be hard, mentally, if you're worried about weight. But.. he doesn't throw food hardly ever!

My current kryptonite is when he is doing something undesirable, and cute. I am having the HARDEST time not laughing/smiling. Today was our first day where he completely did not nap, and I thought my head would explode. I was trying to rock him to sleep and he kept saying NOAH (nose) and sticking his finger up my nose. Couldn't stop giggling. Even though I was so irritated.

I'm sorry mama! My LO loves throwing food, cups, plates, spoon, etc too but luckily she is a good eater. I guess I don't have many good suggestions for you but I know it must be so stressful!

@lovehoneybee: we used to rarely do snacks as well, but now since he's not eating great at mealtimes, he's hungry like an hour or so after it's over...hence a snack. I WANT to just say, wait til the next meal, but he's too young to understand that and it doesn't seem fair to keep him hungry, you know? Any ideas? I also really want to get a new high chair that will allow us to not use a tray! I wonder if that would help...

@stine_ciro: omg that is awful....bad naps are SO tough!!! I am thanking my lucky stars that at least sleep is going ok for us now, even if eating isn't. It's always soemthing tho!

Nap time! LO goes right to sleep at night, but naps mean tons of screaming and crying until I nurse her and then only last 30 min. I can tell she is exhausted by the end of the day, but she won't nap!

We've been going through this too! I recently took the tray off of his booster seat and started putting his plate directly on the table, and he's (mostly) stopped dropping food on the floor. Actually eating it is hit or miss, but that's improving too since we cut out most snacks (unless we're out and about and I need a distraction). Without the snacks he's hungrier at mealtime.

Lately I have REALLY been struggling with LO (17 months) around meal times. He used to be a really good eater, but lately he is becoming pickier, has been throwing food or moving it from one plate to another, and just seems less interested in eating. Some days it seems like he barely eats anything, and even on days he does eat, it's not like he's making up for the days he didn't. So I am stressed about his weight/nutrition (he's around 12th percentile for weight) and it also annoys the CRAP out of me when he drops food off his tray. Like I literally see red--for some reason it has been the last straw lately!!

Anyway this turned into kind of a vent, but what is your current kryptonite? Advice welcome too :)
